There are many fine performances of this piece on KZbin, and I remember seeing this one some time ago, but recently had trouble finding it again. If the title of this piece and the opus number were in the title of the video, perhaps it would get more views. I like the passion of the performers, and that they move the tempo forward when called for, and relax the tempo as well. There is the dialogue between the violin and piano. The tone of the violin is resonant. I like the vibrato on the final note of the violin. Starting at 4:02, there is good buildup toward the climax at 4:24 - the high note comes as a thrilling surprise, and both musicians keep the intensity up until the end of the section at 4:50. The piece is well-written, and must be satisfying for the piano accompanist to be play as well. We need more pieces like this in the world.

Do you know this interpretation? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZDNcnikpNmWqJY For me it captures the essence of this anti-militarist song even more perfectly.

Tom Service - Far too much exposure. And one of the most consistently tedious and boring voices on Radio 3. Saturday morning on radio 3 has lost its appeal now that Mr Service has decided it needs his 'sparkling' input, which it doesn't, and taken away what little was left and tolerable about Radio 3 and its remaining programmes, which were almost free of influence from the BBC high command and Guardian guided leftovers.
