His comments about the future of voice acting leads me to understand why the VA industry in Japan has transformed over the past decade. Japanese VA work has largely merged with idol work, hence why almost every Japanese VA must be able to sing, dance, talk up a storm on a radio show, MC events, serve as hosts, and basically become a living brand. His comments about translators taking too many liberties with the source text resonate with me as well. I despise it when translators decide to move around a sentence when there was absolutely no need to. If a line says "Paris is 100 kilometers from here" there is no reason to change to adapt it as "It's 100 kilometers to get to Paris" completely reversing the subject's location in the sentence.

Rejoice, my friends. This is the last Metroid related interview we've seen before the inevitable showcase of Metroid Prime 4 at the upcoming Nintendo Direct next week, probably on Tueasday. A new era is upon us, the wait has come to an end at long last.

NOTE: This was a nightmare to edit due to the video being all out of sync when it saved(unsure why that is) and my audio leaking into Stephens audio, I tried to salvage it as much as I could but now and then you will hear an echo of my voice, so apologies. Stephens audio is otherwise very clean and crisp. This has been a long time in the making as I made contact with Stephen back in November 2022!!!! So it took a year and a half to make it happen. Also if I remember correctly, they didn’t even want guitars for the Doom 2016 OST and they wanted it to be like a sci fi techno kind of soundtrack. Glad we got the industrial metal soundtrack for Doom 2016, really sucks Mick got screwed over in the end though :(
