People live there when they have no other options. Thankful it’s a blue state, but the cold and lack of culture, no thanks.

I was trapped there for 8 years. It wasn't the weather, it was the people that made me leave. I've lived in several places in the US and still have friends from every place. Except Minnesota. Provincial, closed minded and geographically arrogant, it's the world's biggest small town. I'm not the only one that feels that way. The last time I went I couldn't believe how trashed it still was from the G. Floyd riots. Downtown used to be the only destination that was interesting, and now it's an absolute slum. I made the mistake of taking the public transportation system (full of freaks and ghetto trash) and got COVID for my trouble. Why are people leaving? It's a depressing, soul sucking, anti-social black hole that rejects newcomers.

I’ve been here for 11 years and I have a love/hate relationship with it. Never really felt welcomed although schools are great. Can’t say I would live here forever, but glad I experienced it, also will be glad to leave. MHO

We moved from downtown Minni to Central/Southern Indiana and haven’t looked back! We pay under 2k/month and have a nice piece of land with an open concept home that backs up to a nature preserve. There are amazing private schools in the vicinity as well!

There are many beautiful things in Minnesota. Politics ruined it. Born, raised, lived in MN all my life. My neighbors, community, and everything is better in WI. There's a pretension that IQ goes down when you move across the river: I think it's quite the smarter move.

Man. Thank you for this video! I've been in Minnesota my whole life and knew nothing about Wisconsin other than a few years ago I had to drive there on Sundays for beer😅. This video was really helpful especially the price of purchasing larger acreage.

You should look into Dayton. Its the next up and coming city and has 48% growth over 3 years. City went from 7k in 2020 to 11.4k by July 2024. Most data shows about 10k for 2023 still. Star Tribune did an article on this in 2024. This doesnt even add that a 650 unit apartment complex is set to break ground in 2025 as well as 2 more housing developments totally 145 acres on top of the current developments. I'll add you gotta Google the Dayton border because Dayton shares Maple Grove and Osseo Zip Codes which can make it confusing on which city you actually are in.

Unsafe city to live in. Walk outside your house and you’re prone to getting harassed, robbed, assaulted and not to mention it’s ghetto everywhere you go. Move out if you have the money too.

RUN BY LIBERAL DEMOCRATS AND FAILED POLICIES. I KNOW BECAUSE I'VE LIVED IN THIS AREA MOST OF MY LIFE. I AM MOVING OUT OF MN SOON CAN'T STAND WHAT IT'S BECOME.

I WISH people didn’t talk about politics! If you live in the Cities, the conservatives still won’t talk about politics or religion, because we get vilified. But the Liberals around here never stop screaming their politics. It’s a very frustrating how split the state is. Blue in the Twin Cities, Red everywhere else. Woe to those who live in the area that doesn’t match their politics.

Minnesota nice? The rest of the nation is point blank rude. So us upper Midwestern'ers have left and came back to have a family. We all do it. So that means my posse of 25 that ive known from elementary school is still around. We literally dont have the time for outsiders. Now that doesnt mean a outsider cant date or manage their way into our circle. Happens all the time. But Minnesota isnt a transient state where 1/2 the population is from elsewhere... Although thats changing via the... newcomers.

The cold is no different than the heat. Lived in Florida, New Mexico and Arizona. The southerners lock themselves up under the umbrella of the A/C from March until at least October. Theres really no difference. Ill take common sense North over the Southern tier anyday.

I was born on the east side, was raised there, moved to the suburbs of Minneapolis then moved to cottage Grove and spent a lot of time between there and Woodbury. I left Minnesota 3 years ago for very good reasons, crime, high taxes, leftist bull crap. I only go there if I have to because my family all still lives there. Leaving Minnesota was the best decision I ever made for me and my family.

I love the state, but in the recent years, it has become too costly to live on with a fixed retired income with the increase in property tax and HOA costs going through the roof. I chose to move to Wisconsin, just across the state line. I am close enough to Minnesota to enjoy a trip for some weekend fun and recreation, but budget-wise, I had to move. The cost of living with property tax and HOA fees are half of what it was in Minnesota.

People never talk about all the “income restricted” housing. These make it difficult to find affordable housing if you’re working class and make slightly more than their allowed amount. These dominate the safer areas of the cities. So if you’re a working class person like me and on a budget you’re going to be living in a less desirable area with more crime and less amenities. I understand we need affordable housing but can’t they just do a percentage of income? As a single, working class female, I feel overlooked. I want a safe place to live too. If I were a single mother of 4, I’d be fine. But I’m not and trust me, the twin cities isn’t so MN nice unless you’re wealthy or down and out. In between? Lol. You’re nothing

What a bunch of bs. Lots of over exaggerations to fit his viewpoint. If your going to compare to Wisconsin you should think about Milwaukee not your little bubble in rural wisconsin. As far as "politics" go, Wisconsin is hardly a beacon of sanity. It just sounds like your a connoisseur of your own flatulence with an axe to grind
