To be fair, Ser Crispin's bitterness stems from feeling that Rhaenyra made him break his Kingsguard oath, something punishable by death, castration, banishment and so on... He felt that marrying and running and away with her would redeem him in some way and save him from the dishonor. He's a bad hombre but I understand his character. I don't think he's irredeemable.

In the Hobbit book the battle of 5 armies starts, there is a bit of fighting, Bilbo slips on the ring, hears "The Eagles are coming!" and is knocked out while invisible. He is only found after the battle and suddenly Fili, Kili and Thorin are all dead. You miss quite a lot of the battle in the book. Regarding why the Dwarfs aren't helping in LOTR: when Frodo and friends arrive in Rivendell with the Ring, there is also a psrty of Dwarfs there, led by Gloin. They came to ask for help dealing with the servants of Sauron knocking on Dale's/Erebors door asking about Bilbo. They're kinda busy with that while the race of Men is fighting in Gondor. 3 of the 13 Dwarfs died in the Quest for Erebor. Balin took 3 more with him to Moria a few years prior to the events of LOTR, where they sadly meet their demise. The other 6 are still alive at the start of the events of LOTR, it is unknown whether they survive the war.

Don't watch the Rings of Power!! You will be so disappointed. However, there is the War of the Rohirrim coming later on in the year and then the Gollum movie that Peter Jackson will be making in 2026. There's enough there to get your teeth into when you need the Middle Earth fix without going to RoP.

I'm sure someone else has mentioned this, but you'll notice that in the Lord of the Rings, as Gandalf the Gray, his staff was Radagast's...In the first two Hobbit movies, he had a different Staff. Now, looking back on the Fellowship of the Ring...all the powerful things Gandalf was able to do, he did with Radagast's staff!!

I just wanted to mention, in case you were wondering. Balin does eventually travel back to the Shire and visits Bilbo. He is the only one of the company to do so.

As a big LotR fan and someone who subscribed to your channel for your middle earth content - please watch Rings of Power! It’s a slow build in S1 but S2 is going to be intense and high speed! Don’t listen to the negativity in some of these comments - RoP gets a similar bad rep to The Hobbit but i think thats just bc S1 is mostly setup. i think if you enjoy Middle-earth youll enjoy seeing Sauron, Elrond, Galadriel, Elendil, and Isildur and learn about how the Rings were made. its a cool story and it looks like each season is getting better!

The Dwarves believed Durin Reincarnated. Gloin was Gimli’s Father was at the Council of Elrond. Legolas wasn’t in the Hobbit neither was Tauriel. Legolas was a giant easter egg. Peter Jackson is doing another movie about Gandalfs search for Gollum. From Bilbo’s Party to Frodo leaving the Shire was 17 years. The elves, Aragorn and Gandalf all searched for him. Frodo was 50, the same age as Bilbo was when he went to the Lonely Mountain, when he left the Shire with Sam and Pippin.

I like how you pointed out that in these series the elves really look like they're "not just a normal human"... something about their faces, their presence, their glow, idk. For some reason the new "Rings of Power" series from Amazon completely failed to convey that other-wordly feeling. Their elves look like a bunch of theatre students trying to cosplay Julius Caesar😂 Just humans with pointy ears wearing robes... P.S. as for Legolas feeling different in this movie, I guess it's because they've tried to digitally de-age Orlando and it didn't go too well

There is one last hurrah that you can watch about Middle-Earth. It's a song called the Last Goodbye and it will quite likely break out the water works. It is sung by Billy Boyd who played Pippin. It is a magnificent song and gives me goosebumps every time.

One time I saw someone mentioned that at one point Bilbo had the Arkenstone the ring of power and the mithril chainmail. It's almost like Tolkiens version of the Deathly Hallows

Thats why everyone who had any real power had the sense to refuse the ring. Knowing the power they could wield and the terrible destruction they could cause if they were to be corrupted by the ring.

There is an animated movie set in Middle Earth called The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, that is set to release in December of this year! It tells the story of Helm Hammerhand, a legendary king of Rohan, which the fortress of Helm's Deep is named after!

You love this series, the universe, the characters and all of it. We do too and have much enjoyed reliving it with you. Now, to keep the love in your heart from turning to bitter stone, stay away from the godawful Rings Of Power. It shares nothing of the things you loved in LOTR and should be redacted from the pages of TV history. Literally a war crime against every person on the planet, yes it's that bad.
@Bastekxyz3 күн бұрын
The Hobbit trilogy could have been better, but unfortunately, the studio replaced the director just before shooting started (from Guillermo del Toro to Peter Jackson), leaving Jackson with very limited time to prepare and redo pre-production work.

Other not so fun fact, the dwarf that Gandalf takes the book from in Balins tomb in the fellowship is Ori the younger dwarf with the slingshot. That’s him, he stuck by balins side

So fun fact, the mithril shirt that was given to bilbo was originally made as a gift for an Elvin prince. And the only Elvin prince born during the time it would have been made was Legolas. She bilbos mithril shirt was originally supposed to be a young Legolas shirt

Rings of power is a prequel show. By the name, it’s about the forging of the rings of power as well as the one ring in the second age. The events of the LotR and the hobbit are WELL into the third age and actually end the third age so it takes place several thousand years in advance of these. Visually the show is stunning. And if you don’t know the lore and how it’s supposed to be I’m sure it’s a very good show, but me personally, knowing how it’s SUPPOSED to be I don’t care for it all that much. But I also understand that they were bound by the limited resources they were allowed to use. Visually the show is absolutely beautiful. But beyond that I wasn’t a huge fan of it but you might as well watch it.
@anixara93 күн бұрын
It's like a visual fanfiction, has barely anything to do with the source material but is a fun 'what if' scenario starring OCs and canon-lite.
@justintheking13 күн бұрын
@@anixara9 that’s a fair enough assessment. Like I said it you don’t k ow what canon is supposed to be it’s not terrible. It still isn’t great, a bunch of the writing needs improving with season 2 as well all sorts of small plot holes but it’s not terrible. When you know what it supposed to be and how much they changed it, AND you were hoping for it to stick to canon, it’s really not good
