Hahahaha your comment had us going back and rewatching/ rewinding as well lol. Glad the review was helpful. Not the next video but the one after that will feature a toy thats designed to do what this should have done and works (albeit with a few weird quirks). Hopefully that will be more useful. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment on the video!

What do you do for older cats that don’t care to play?
@Pepperprojectz5 күн бұрын
Ooh good question. Playtime looks very different in young vs. old cats, so first of all don’t be discouraged if they’re less energetic vs our 2 (Oreo and Wolf were 18 months old in this video). Older cats could need more ‘warming’ up / patience and even so a good playtime might only be a few mins at a time (they’re sprinters not marathon runners ha! Especially as they age, lower impact playtime, like them sitting/laying and tapping a wand is still great. Other tips would be to play right before bed or first thing in the morning and ideally before food time. If all else fails try toys with catnip, silvervine or valerian (our 3 prefer silvervine over catnip). The other thing to consider is Arthritis. We covered this in another video but 90% of cats over 10 years have arthritis in one or more joints, which is often a major contributing factor behind cats slowing as they enter their later years. Loads can be done but the first thing would be to get them checked by a vet. I hope this helps. The main thing is you care and are trying to play with them. It sounds like your furbaby is lucky to have you! 😻❤️

I have a toilet roll slow feeder which my kitten loves. She figured it out within seconds and I occasionally take it out to feed her some treats. She often drags treats from the taller rolls to the lower ones so she can easily yet to them. Have made her a handmade wand and also hidden some treats in a folded up toilet roll. She loves yarn but because of the dangers I crochet a sock for the yarn ball and now it's safe for her to play with. Also, I put crinkle plastic wrapping (from my shopping) into a sock and tie it at the top, she loves to bunnykick the heck out of the sock. Making little things for her gives me so much joy.

For that matter, what idiot started the rumor popular with yuppies and millennials "human food" is bad for cats, and a varied diet will make them toss up; they should be fed "vegan" grain based kibble? Cats are CARNIVORES by nature, why d'ya think they'll steal the chicken right off my plate? I've 2 who ask for bread. 5 who love Swiss or cheddar cheese. 6 of them beg for spaghetti sauce. They all prance for salami. Mac & cheese - get outta their way! One drinks beer. One gets in my face when I light my English tobacco pipe, but doesn't care for menthol cigarette smoke. They know when we've been shopping, and 3 of them want a few pinches from donuts, glazed or chocolate covered. One steals 2 or 3 M&Ms when he gets the chance. 2 like green beans. They eat about 10p of kibble every week - and 10p of unspiced chicken we cook up just for them - and what they want from our plates and sandwiches. You can go to the grocery, cats haven't a bank card. Imagine if someone ONLY allowed you to eat... cat food is basicly cheerios with meat + fish oils sprinkled on it. I'm sure you eat what you're in the mood for. Cats have brains and moods too. Don't be torturing them with the latest tomfool opinions on the web. BTW, Abyssinians ARE the one "vegan" cat, they will eat chicken but prefer green beans and will make you crazy for asparagus.

Jackson Galaxy is dropping off and I can tell you honestly that once upon a time long ago because lots of people weren't famous on FB and before extended profiles when he started on My Cat From Hell...when I watched that show attempting to have an open mind, he was an advocate when I meet him on other forums but as one of the people on his first profile who could contact him. I watched 3 episodes of the series and being the assinine individual I am I messaged and said how dare you make a show to correct cat behavior by walking in and stressing the cat and inciting the behavior then giving a list of instructions walk out, in my personal opinion your deliberately abusing a cat to make a show. What school did Jackson go to that gave him a certificate in behavior? The online course has been invented and even if he worked with cats for 30 years the claim of tens of thousands? I don't count how many I rescued I can count the ones that were not made to be rescued but in 27 years in rescue I couldn't possibly rescue 10s of thousands, his popularity is dropping because he's so vain he honestly believes himself. Thousands sure 10s of I doubt that, and self inflated ego eventually translates to people who really do work with cats and thier behaviors, and it really seems to me that his ego isn't buying him the celebrity status he claims. Kind of like how Cesar Milan the so called dog whisperer kicking the dog with his back heel on TV was ok because he was the dog whisperer and so it wasn't abuse it was training correction...right? Sure it was but its things like that are the reason JG's toys are on Amazon but just not selling since the marketing claims the toys in the trademarked box were his design? Nah they are available for rebranding he just picked a toy he thought was safe and put it in a box with his brand on it, you can buy similar toys at the dollar store and none are safety tested for animals either way. Can you say hypocrite, its almost a dirty word the guy sounds off about safety standards and chooses a toy to brand because its safe enough while the reason you should buy that toy is because he's the guy who has worked with 10's of thousands of cats and I'm sure he played with every single one of them to test that toy right?

Not just cat whisperers dude and you don't have to be a genius just a crazy cat person to answer or only get one wrong...I think I need to check into an asylum now However as a cat rescue and seeing street cat genetics create full bred cats, you have no idea how many times I rescued a cat that I had no idea was a full bred until the vet said oh where did a "whatever breed it was" come from, and I would say, its a street cat I saved? I learned a lot about "full bred" cats the only existing real full breed is the mau. Other breeds that ended up in other parts of the world would climatize to the environment. And the newest generation of cats are not full bred they are genetic errors that are being used to create a designer breed. Point in fact the Siamese didn't start out a thin triangular over sized head, the orginal siamese had points but was a thick and had an apple shaped head. The poor munchkin is all I can say and the Maine Coon was a Scandanavian Breed descended from a Norwegian and Siberian cat that traveled with the vikings and became the state cat or the state of Maine only because they thought that the breed originated there but it didn't it just landed there and more or less kept the breed from cross breeding. Some breeds evolved as descendants without human interference and then the ones that humans tampered with or changed which is a shame a Persian can't breed, a Sphyx can't tolerate or control thier body temperatures and munchkins have back problems, and the cats I rescued from the streets were the right combination of genetics from one domestic to another. And when it comes to Tardar Sauce they can say that cat wasn't drugged in public, I doubt that especially when you see the video of her at home...poor cat only 7 and died of a urinary tract infection. I'm glad that people can pass the quiz but dude the thing I liked most was having people identify the breeds and the reason is that I rescue full bred cats, do you know how many full bred cats need help in shelters. Don't ask me how I know this and you can check me, I learned a lot over the years but honestly was shocked by how I learned what I know not knowing that full bred cats more or less are the created by man not naturally occuring unless its an evolution or natural combination that descended. A local rescue in my area just took in a Scottish Fold the poor cat is very ill but the owners who bought the cat surrendered the cat at the shelter where the cat was going to be euthanized because someone contacted them. Really doesn't matter what cat is at the shelter but if people want to own a full bred cat that is likely good genetics, won't cost them a breeders price those cat breeds show up in rescues and shelters a lot, and even full bred cats need help. Either way a cat gets saved but its not so much a cat whisperer would know all the breeds and even institutional in the cat crazy ward, I did get one wrong I thought the ragdoll was the Norwegian and I know a Maine coon in a second and if I didn't know the breed you have one that stars in your drops, that one was easy 😂

In terms of getting potentially fake products from Amazon (even as the seller, not third-party) I'm starting to err on the side of caution. There's been a handful of times I've received fabric softener where the packaging doesn't look right compared to original brand. My friend bought a new book recently from Amazon that was fake! Shoddily bound, damaged, dodgy paper quality and there were over 100 more pages than the official printed edition. If books can be knockoff then it makes you wonder what else is being sold that is too! An alternative explanation is maybe Amazon gets a discount for products that have outdated branding and/or packaging that wouldn't quite hack it on physical shop shelves?
@Pepperprojectz22 күн бұрын
You’re absolutely right-it’s definitely becoming harder to trust where some of these products are coming from, and it seems to be a growing problem. Sorry to hear about the fabric softener and your friend’s book-that is a worry!! We recently did a video on 10 Amazon cat toys we tested, where we dive into some of these issues. I recently been made aware that the fake snow spray on certain fake trees and various decorations is toxic. An excellent advisory, the things you don't think twice about, my vets used to tell me to exercise "environmental awareness" what could change the things that you may have added you thought weren't dangerous. Wonderful Thank You for raising awareness and pointing cat owners in the right direction!

Hello again! Hope you’re doing well. We recently read about the fake snow spray too -another thing to add to the growing list of things to watch out for! I would be very cautious about using anything long or string-like (pipe cleaners, felt strips, yarn, etc.) UNLESS the owner puts the toy away after playing. Vets will confirm the danger of cats chewing and swallowing bits of any type of linear object. And they WILL chew on them.
