Where did you source your Australian bloodstone? It's lovely. Also, what gauge wire did you use for the earring, and for the wrapping wire? Great video. Thanks for not using background music.
@justynasart6 күн бұрын
Thank you!☺️ I source it from an online shop “Oriental Direct”, it is an UK gemstone supplier. I used 20ga wire to make the ear wires and 24ga for the wrapping around the stone. The bead sits on 18ga wire. I hope it helps 😉 I’m happy that you like the “no music” type of video. 🥰

Beautiful work. I appreciate the no music. What is the difference between using the plastic end versus the rubber end of the mallet?
@justynasart2 ай бұрын
Thank you 🙏🏻❤️ both of the sides are meant to be used to harden / bend delicate metals without leaving any marks. Personally I prefer to use the rubber side over the plastic.

Hello! This morning i melted down some scrap silver wires into balls, then hammered them into disc components. I'm making earrings for a friend's birthday. Tonight your tutorial came up in my feed. 😊 Your design is beautiful! Don't you just love making "pretty" from leftovers?! Thank you!

What's the reason for hitting it with the hammer? 🤔
@justynasart3 ай бұрын
Hammering will harden the metal. Chasing hammer, additionally, will add texture and flatten the piece. The rubber hammer won’t mark the metal.

Lovely. I’m curious about when to use the chase hammer versus the rubber or nylon.
@justynasart4 ай бұрын
They both make the metal harder but when I want texture or flatten some parts than I use chase hammer. Rubber or nylon hammer doesn’t mark the metal.🔨🤓

Such a pretty set of earrings. Both the wirework and the stones are beautiful. I'm new to wire wrapping, so thank you for sharing your process of creating these. Definitely something I'd like to try. Do you mind if I ask where you source your stone beads and silver wires from? Also, if you don't mind, how do you choose the correct wire for the bead hole size, or vice versa? Thanks again for the video.😊
@justynasart4 ай бұрын
Thank you 🤗 I bought These gemstones via Oriental Direct and the wire at Cooksongold (UK suppliers). These 8mm beads hole size is approximately 1mm and the 18ga wire diameter is about the same size. The supplier usually has all these information included in description. I hope it helps.

Love these❤ I am a beginner, can you tell me which parts you used the different guage wire on? Im guessing 18 guage was ear wires?
@justynasart4 ай бұрын
I used 20ga to make the ear wires, 18ga for the dangle part with the bead and 24ga to wire wrap the bead, 26ga for the small wrapping accent on the ear wires. It takes a lot of patience and practice but don’t be discouraged, you will get there 👍🏼🤗
