Thank you so much for your kind words! For this piece, the bead seats on 18ga wire, with 24ga wire wrapping around it. I used 20ga wire for the ear wires, and 26ga for the fine wrapping around them. These wire sizes are a great starting point for most projects, especially when you’re beginning. I hope this helps, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. Wishing you all the best with your creations! 😊

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! It’s wonderful to hear about your grandmother’s treasured earrings, and I’m glad my work reminds you of them. I completely agree with you about the beauty of copper-its natural shades and versatility are what drew me to it as well. When I started, copper was my go-to material, and I still love working with it. It’s affordable, easy to work with, and has so much potential for creating beautiful pieces. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try as you explore your own creative journey!

Love these❤ I am a beginner, can you tell me which parts you used the different guage wire on? Im guessing 18 guage was ear wires?
@justynasart10 ай бұрын
I used 20ga to make the ear wires, 18ga for the dangle part with the bead and 24ga to wire wrap the bead, 26ga for the small wrapping accent on the ear wires. It takes a lot of patience and practice but don’t be discouraged, you will get there 👍🏼🤗

Beautiful work. I appreciate the no music. What is the difference between using the plastic end versus the rubber end of the mallet?
@justynasart9 ай бұрын
Thank you 🙏🏻❤️ both of the sides are meant to be used to harden / bend delicate metals without leaving any marks. Personally I prefer to use the rubber side over the plastic.

beautiful earrings. What I’m curious is the pad you’re using to take the liver of sulfur off what is it exactly? I’m assuming it’s some kind of sandpaper but exactly what is it and what grit?
@justynasart3 ай бұрын
Hi, Thank you ☺️ I use Pro-Polishing Pads - they’re great for polishing silver and fired metal clay, giving a high shine. I found them online at a metal clay supplier (metalclay.co.uk).

Lovely. I’m curious about when to use the chase hammer versus the rubber or nylon.
@justynasart10 ай бұрын
They both make the metal harder but when I want texture or flatten some parts than I use chase hammer. Rubber or nylon hammer doesn’t mark the metal.🔨🤓

Where did you source your Australian bloodstone? It's lovely. Also, what gauge wire did you use for the earring, and for the wrapping wire? Great video. Thanks for not using background music.
@justynasart6 ай бұрын
Thank you!☺️ I source it from an online shop “Oriental Direct”, it is an UK gemstone supplier. I used 20ga wire to make the ear wires and 24ga for the wrapping around the stone. The bead sits on 18ga wire. I hope it helps 😉 I’m happy that you like the “no music” type of video. 🥰

Such a pretty set of earrings. Both the wirework and the stones are beautiful. I'm new to wire wrapping, so thank you for sharing your process of creating these. Definitely something I'd like to try. Do you mind if I ask where you source your stone beads and silver wires from? Also, if you don't mind, how do you choose the correct wire for the bead hole size, or vice versa? Thanks again for the video.😊
@justynasart10 ай бұрын
Thank you 🤗 I bought These gemstones via Oriental Direct and the wire at Cooksongold (UK suppliers). These 8mm beads hole size is approximately 1mm and the 18ga wire diameter is about the same size. The supplier usually has all these information included in description. I hope it helps.

What's the reason for hitting it with the hammer? 🤔

Hammering will harden the metal. Chasing hammer, additionally, will add texture and flatten the piece. The rubber hammer won’t mark the metal.
