What a legend. RIP. This is the precursor for “And Justice For All” for those not in the know.

These bass lines were played by Jason in Seattle in '89. Can someone please tell me if these bass lines were written by Cliff and played by Jason as a tribute, or if they are a improv by Jason in that show?

I hope he is, he was such a nice person which you can see in older Metallica interviews and videos of cliff on stage the way he died is heartbreaking but at the same time, he still died doing what he loved, with his bass probably near him on that bus. His life was like a shooting star, bright for a while, then it faded to black. But he still left his mark on earth

Anyone know who composed the guitar?
@SomeCanineАй бұрын
Cliff played a bass better than a lot of people can play a guitar. He didn't stop there. He composed a lot of the harmonies and guitar melodies in a lot of the early albums. On top of that, he was an amazing showman on stage. He was one of the best bandmates any band could ever have.

Everyone jokes about the Bass player being in the background, behind the singer, behind the guitars and somewhat in line with the drums. But both Cliff and Paul deaths prove one thing. Once the heart line of bass is gone, the entire band collapses and goes in a totally different direction. Paul Gray and Cliff Burton deaths came before they reached their peaks, their deaths hit their band members hard and changed the discography completely. Once both of their driving forces were taken out, it was no more for both bands. Both bassist for each band were the main ones pushing the music. Never over look a bassist again.
