You could possibly make the mudguard attach to the swingarm so it moves with the wheel and will never hit the tyre. Should make it removable for better service space
@ShooglyShedMotors2 күн бұрын
I'll be making a hugger mudguard that does that 👍🏻

Excellent job executed very professionally with that you have. Amazing how far the old subframe was off, maybe due to many crashes...
@ShooglyShedMotors2 күн бұрын
I'd guess that the previous owner just wasn't as thorough with fabricating the subframe!

It's a YSS shock currently! Height adjustable.

I made removable corner posts to convert a drop side Transit to an occasional flat bed. The corner posts were 2” angle. I used 3” angle mounted on little pieces of steel bar to space them away from the frame and create a socket. I added more little pieces of steel to the corner posts to limit how far into the socket they would go. The sides and tailgate stopped the corner posts coming out while they held sides and tailgate up.

Fantastic vid and great work! Just some off-road input. You may want to be able to raise the shifter slightly more if the rider is going to wear boots with a thick toe cap and ankle protection. It gets a bit difficult to get your toes under when it's low down. 🥾
@ShooglyShedMotors5 күн бұрын
Cheers for that! Plenty room for adjustments, especially if I move the spline round a notch or two.

Just binge watched a couple hours of your ,channel, your humility is to be admire,d as 40yr toolmaker I watched your taillight video and said yes, build a cheap buck to thermoforming around, but the more I watched I was impressed by common sense and good taste

Thank you! I like to learn as I go which means a lot of mistakes... But honesty is the best policy right? Show mistakes and everyone learns 👍🏻 we're only human!

Definitely upgrade the front clamp. I have a full table lift and it came with a small wheel clamp like yours and it was so sketchy holding my 240kg tiger! The bike just felt like it couldn’t wait to peel out of the stand. Changed it for one that grips further up and its much safer. Good video though. Happy ‘biking
@ShooglyShedMotors6 күн бұрын
I've had it for about 3 years now - you're definitely right - I upgraded the wheel chock to a roll-in/roll-out style and it feels a lot safer!!
@koenvandevaerd45007 күн бұрын
Is there a follow up? Like to know how it works after 3 years.
@ShooglyShedMotors7 күн бұрын
I use it in 99.9% of my videos! It's still performing very well. My only upgrade was replacing the wheel chock with a roll-in/roll-out style. Sturdier and you don't have to worry about screwing the chock in and out.
@koenvandevaerd45007 күн бұрын
@ShooglyShedMotors thank you for the quick response. Good to know. Love your video's. Keep up the good (down to earth) work. It is very inspiring for me

Think this is going to be one of my favorite builds, excited to see how it turns out. Also I get the idea of using the drill to cut the thread but please use a proper tap wrench to start it off so you are applying equal pressure to the tap. Petty I know but goes against all I was taught as an engineer😊
