The advice given to people in relationships is that your spouse/SO cannot bring you satisfaction in this life. Only a relationship with Christ can. Okay, I get that. So I do that as a single. Read the Word every day. But what if that seems to not work? The only thing that takes from my life of misery is distraction. Work, and distraction. But even that is becoming less and less effective over time. I find no fulfillment or satisfaction in anything, including, it seems, a relationship with Christ. It seemed to when I first began this Christian journey, but years later, the misery has not been replaced. I’m not miserable when reading the Bible, but I worry it’s just serving as another distraction, and not providing meaning. Any advice (or prayers) is appreciated.

I confess I am afraid because I fear I don’t have the right words to preach and say . For the past couple days videos like these had been popping up on my feed. This is one of them.

I look up on google. repentance / repent (metanoia) greek meaning. “to change one's mind” “change of mind” “to change one's mindset” Change of mind and change of heart. Turns to the Lord. Not in the world. Acts 26:18 (KJV) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. 😊

The problem with this it is a double edged sword. In one hand if you trust in your own works then you have become 'I' centered instead of Christ centered it is God who does the works in us anyways. However some use this logic as a license to sin, which makes those no different from the devil at that point for if we sin then God will ask why do we refer to me as Lord when you do not obey me? It is like the child predator I recently had a conversation with my friends about if a child predator would be saved and they said if he repented he would. I don't believe he would see we don't know the life and thoughts of all maybe the thief on the right had a good reason to steal to provide for his family it was in fact roman times with born into class systems and non-italians were looked with disdain and sold off into slavery in most provinces. The predator had multiple chances and he chose to commit the most heinous things more worse than murdering Christians as Saul did before his conversion. There would have to be a huge repentance effort for "love covers a multitude of sins", which I believe will not be adequate in one lifetime to fill the void of the grievous sin committed. This does not make the blood worthless but it makes it appointed that we should fear God only for he is the only way we can receive salvation and atonement for sins. You said it right: works are indeed an indication of the fruit of the holy spirit what kind of fruit would a dastardly evil filthy person such as this ever do to be redeemed? Now we could say forgiveness & loving your enemy but that doesn't mean God is a fool to let in those who willing prey on children. God isn't just begging us to repent he can humble anyone to his knees he is the reason anyone is saved it would absolutely be insanity for a 10year old who was bullied to commit suicide then a child pred to commit his acts and repent then get into heaven "but a different level". The God of justice came as a sheep then he shall come as a lion he doesn't continue to take slaps and turn other cheeks & be mocked or else he would be an eternal fool. The meekness of God should never be how we see God for his attributes are more than just meek, it is justice & wisdom as revelation states his reward is with us and he will give everyone according to their deeds.
