This is also something I've struggled with. I grew up listening to metal/punk/classic rock - all of which is against the Christian life. I have cut WAY back , but still go back a little every now an then. Its not just the music, its the artists and the way they live, plus the imagery connected to the music, it all plants a seed of sin and evil. Please pray for me that I weed it out permanently.

Yeah, I've been dealing with a lot of negative thoughts, and I've been taking it out on people by being very judgmental and negative and angry at the slightest thing. And I keep imagining conversations I've never had where i'm arguing with people and putting them down verbally tearing them apart. Not because of music influence but other stuff. I'm slowly trying to get myself out of the state.

another thing i'd like to mention is that sometimes music that isn't directly about God can still glorify Him, for example there are some songs that aren't exactly "christian songs" but they really make me look up and remind me that there's so much to be thankful to God for. i also really wish there were more creative christian artists, i've explored so many genres of christian music and much of it is just.. the same. even in the more niche stuff like gospel drill, etc. it's difficult to find stuff that really resonates with me. as a musician myself i find almost nothing creative in the christian realm anymore, a lot of it is just passed off as "fun and enjoyable," which isn't even really a bad thing, i just want something that'll really move me y'know?

I’ve found “neo genesis” recently on Spotify and I think it’s both deep and enjoyable - stuff about God is enjoyable in the first place!

Thanks for the videos, brother. May I request? T-T can you slow down a bit in that way you speak? I mean, 0.75 isn't good tho, too slow.... cause english isn't my second language... thanks, my brother in Christ!

I gave Up today and I was trying to ask google if it was okay to listen to some kind of secular songs as Christians that don’t have like bad lyrics . This video was really helpful
