1918! And here I thought that taking 24 years for us to plan a highway in Indianapolis was a long time.

For anyone wondering what happened to this attraction: it sits abandoned and is decaying. There's an exploration video on KZbin about it, search "Budapest, Vidámpark, elhagyatott mesecsónak"

No it was removed 10 years ago

Horses of the inner row are most probably from another carousel operated elsewhere in City Park before. The are made by the same German master Friedrich Heyn who carved the figures for the lost Klupáthy carousel also operated in this park.

So so smooth. One of my favorite woodies of all time. I think I may have seen part of this one before David. I always enjoy the wooden coaster clips. I sometimes watch them five or six times in a row. Thanks for sharing it and a Merry Christmas to you and your family~ Rob/Boston

Really considering whether to go to this park just for this ride. Having Kondaa in my country I'm spoiled when it comes to modern Intamin, but I really liked the more oldschool simplicity of Goliath and this looks like that but perfected further!

I haven't ridden Expedition Ge-Force for many years but the fact it still scores so highly in coaster polls suggests it is still an amazing ride...so well worth considering!

literally, the name translates to hot ride. I thought it was literally about somebody farting flames lol Because fart in English means something completely different compared to Fahrt

Yes, I know of course...I always found the name amusing, although I did German at school so know what it translates as...I guess the word 'hot' is an unusual one when it comes to describing a coaster ride 🙂

No - actual speed! You can prove it with the maths...taking the maximum design speed (26mph) and the length of the track, to work out how long it should take at full speed to complete the course

Sweet old memories of the late Vidámpark. 3 vintage rides survived the 2016 demolition in the area. The old carousel, this rollercoaster and the fairytale boat ride underneath. People want to bring back the coaster to life but it's in a dangerous condition now due to lack of maintenance and zoo operators think every penny spent on it is wasted. Only a total refurbishment could help now to save it if anybody would finance this horribly expensive work.

So sad - it doesn't look good for this rare and classic scenic railway!
@manhorse660112 күн бұрын
Shame what's happening to it. No maintenance since closing down in 2015. A national heritage ride not allowed to dismantle but it's not forbidden by law to neglect so they simply let it rot away hoping its collapse will make way to more monkey business in the former theme park area.

This place looks very much like School Park in my other world; a kind of place that bounced off from my school trips to Tuby's Fair at Spalding and my school trips to places that have a playground area like the Fun Farm soft play area in Spalding as well as the playground stuff at School during my time throughout Gosberton House School. This definitely would be the filming location for School Park in my other world if it were made into a film.🤣

I’ve got this rare credit too, I heard that the trick to getting this credit is ride it within the first hr of operation when no one is riding so I made an effort to go to the park for opening and go straight there, lo and behold, although a ride op was still at the entrance(I got a little nervous)I went in line and they didn’t stop me so I took a quick ride happy I was getting the credit It’s ok for what it is, nothing exciting though, nice family mild thrill, over in a flash, i swear I timed it at approx 45 seconds 😂

Hello David If you are still around I have a question that you may or may not can answer At 1:49 where the trains go one last lap in the big projection hall where film is being played we now see some gears spinning, but this video (that was being played during this video) is diffrent that what we have now and my question is what was there to see? because I've looked through the entire internet but found nothing so if you know or have a video of that I will be amazing to know beacause I've almost spend half a year searching for it
