I went to Niagara Falls, Canada for Thanksgiving a few yrs back. The weather wasnt that bad. Only thing is The Maid of the Mist only operates until Oct 31, however The Hornblower on the Canadian side operates until Nov 30. The hotel prices are much cheaper and the crowds are much smaller. The state park on the American side is very nice. Great views of the top Horseshoe Falls. Parking was $10 USD.

As a Chicago resident I have to add my 2 cents: 1. Navy Pier is a waste of time. The Children’s Museum isn’t bad but the rest is just chain restaurants and crappy gift stands 2. The 606, Northerly Island and Ping Tom Park are amazing parks and give you a different views of the city 3. Wendalla offers the best river tours and has the best guides 4. Second City is a great night out

I would stear clear of this go-kart park. On our last visit we went. Karts are way past needing replaced. The 1 worker on the slick track was busting his butt keeping things going, other tracks had multi workers who were more worried about their cell phones than working. As we were leaving the line to come in was about 20 people all buying wrist bands to ride. The park was closing early and i hope they told those people shortest wait for a gokart was about 30 min not worth the cost to maybe get on 2 rides

I tell people 3 important things when going to myrtle beach, 1 research 2 research and 3 research. And on a side note remember you get what you pay for. There are alot of dumps that should be avoided at all cost and one is Bar Harbor

My family and I have been going to MB since the '80's for the most part. We used to stay at the Hampton Inn, which is a wonderful hotel resort, but our family has become too big for their largest suite, so, we've been going to North MB for the past few years staying at the Mar Vista Grande air b&b, which is also a great resort. We're going there next month!

Something most people aren't aware of is the first week of November, the American Heart Association sponsors a beach ride where several hundred people will be riding horses from Lakewood Campground into Myrtle Beach. I've been on ride the last two years and plan to be there again this year.

That tip about not swimming near the piers. Would that apply to ANY pier on a beach anywhere?
