They were very aware of what they were doing, they themselves could be considered as having the sort of bravado mentality that could see a sort of adventurous appeal in risqué material. It is up to the general speaker to decide what terms to use and when! It is up to the common people if they want to become good or bad communicators! Letting others tell you what to say, and what words to say it with, is not just lazy; it is abhorrently self-destructive.
