Thank you for a lovely reaction to Emma's singing, there's so much I could tell you, but KZbin's comment is limited in size, so I will have to limit how much I can tell you. Emma first came to widespread public attention when she won Voice Kids in 2021, at the age of 13, kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGHKiZyhg7edmNE That gave her a much larger profile, and then in 2023, she won ministars, singing a very different version of the French entry to the 2021 Eurovision song contest, sung by Barbara Pravi, kzbin.info/www/bejne/qICuh35qpJKpnJY and that version came to the attention of Andre RIeu, who invited her in to the studio, and as a result of the visit, they agreed she would sing Voila at the summer concert series in Maastricht town square in July. Andre and his team worked with Emma, they significantly changed the song, they slowed it down, changed the tempo, added the key change, and the repeat of the last verse, which gave Emma the time and space she needed to be able to do so much more than just sing the song, she LIVED it on that stage, and at the end, the only reason that the orchestra were not shedding tears, they'd had to steel themselves not to shed tears, having had huge problems during rehearsals. This video was special in a number of ways, it was the first live performance ever of the 'new' version of Voila, and Emma's first appearance on Andre's stage, but she absolutely nailed it, her performance was perfect, and it resulted in Andre inviting her to become a part of his tour, she went to Malta for 2 concerts, sang in 5 concerts in the Christmas concerts in Maastricht, and is currently part of his series of 75 concerts around the world, which will cover all of 2024, and I would like to hope that she will continue to sing with him beyond the end of 2024, Andre has a track record of encouraging young talent, and Emma very much fits into that category. There are many other videos of songs by Emma, but I will mention them as comments on other songs by Emma as is appropriate, I will run out of space very soon, so I will close with my usual appeal to everyone reading these thoughts, Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl If at all possible, please join me in making a (regular) contribution to Emma's foundation, they are a small but dedicated group of people working on research on this awful disease, with a view to providing additional support to patients like Emma and hopefully finding new treatments or even better, a cure for the disease. One of the key people in the team is a surgeon with significant experience of treating gastroparesis patients, but as a result of a worsening of her condition, as she too suffers from this same disease, she has been forced to leave her position as a surgeon, so her focus now is on the work of the foundation, and achieving some new results to help provide answers or treatments. It would be more than wonderful to hear that a result of the work of the foundation is a treatment or cure that will enable Emma to realise her other dream, and be free of the feeding tube regime, and able to perform more as the incredible singer that she is, and it may be the help of people in this community that makes this a reality.
