his voice is so clean and clear and resonant, huge chest and shoulders made for huge resonating chambers, no wonder his sound was so unique and singularly resplendent!!

A box set of 19CDs of Maureen Forrester is scheduled to be issued in Canada in the Fall 2024. I'm told that there will be only 250 copies.

She was never a natural mezzo…her lighter natural voice is much better than the artificial low voice that she developed later! She was a soprano without high notes! So she decided to become a mezzo…

I had the great pleasure to have Ms Forrester as a teacher in a Master class in Buffalo New York back in 1994. I sang An die Musik by Schubert. She was extremely generous and loving with her comments in relation to my singing and my interpretation of the piece. I was very nervous before my performance because in my mind she was the lady in the cover of a long play record my parents owned in Santa Fe, Argentina when I was a young boy and all of a sudden I was singing in front of her! I remember her as a warm, generous, extremely friendly and a true human artist. All my love, admiration, respect and my best memories for Maureen Forrester!

هرگز صدایی به زیبایی وادای کلماتی به این اثر گزاری، جهان ندیده. هربار که تو ماریا میخوانی، اشک میریزم. تو یگانه بودی و هستی.

Great singing, of course. There is lots of myth building around famous singers especially when they have passed away. Pavarotti is no exception to the rule in this respect. Yet, from a neutral point of view there are some very capable tenors among his predecessors, lesser known, however, who sound even better.

Čist, zvonak, neobično lijep i prodoran glas ove sjajne pjevačice jamstvo je užitka slušanja. A kad još vidjeh da je dirigent hrvat Antonio Janigro, raznježih se.

Thank you Operasia for sharing. While my father was so fanatical about Gigli, making sure that we had every possible recording, I don’t recall ever actually listening to this one. You’re right, it’s virtually no different than his recording at 41 years old. Absolutely amazing how that final top note is under full control…he could have spun that out to FFF and back down if he wanted. And having seen him at Carnage Hall 4 years later at the very end of his career, my father said that mezza voce could be heard all over the place, almost coming from every direction. That blended mezza voce/falsetto/pharyngeal is absolutely unparalleled….it’s absolutely incredible that it is flawlessly connected to all registers of his voice.

he had a much longer prime than that, he was still singing better than anyone much later.........his 7 years training gave him enviable control with such a subtle beautiful transitions of every nots, I notice the piano player did a little twang but the maestro did not. his voice was so sweet it would melt a stone from an author that didn't even like him. he was in his own class, never to be approached now or anytime...............
