I had a 2015 Gold Wing and the only thing I didn’t like about it was the impossible air filter change. Did they change that or does it still take 2-3 hours to complete? It would be nice if they engineered a trap door slip-in system.

When I bought a 2020 KTM 1290 SAS, I kept my 2005 FJR1300. At 76, do I need 2 motorcycles? No, but I wasn't sure how reliable the KTM would be and I didn't want to be without a bike. Throw in that the Yamaha needs little attention and 15 years old would not fetch a huge amount of cash, and I do keep it in use to stop the fuel gumming up, so it seemed prudent. As it happens, there have been no problems with the SAS.
