My Grandfather’s mother was Hottel. Her people came to the Shenandoah area from the foothills of the Austrian Alps. They had a homestead and farmed their land. I visited their farm when I was 7 years old. I am 79 now. It was a memorable experience.it was to be made into a Museum. It was filled with early primitive antiques like candle molds, a spinning wheel and many other items.

Although I have been to The Greenbrier many times, it has been a long time since I have been there. When I was there about 15 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Moseley. This man recently passed away at the age of 91 after working at The Greenbrier for more than 60 years. His brother Joe, who I knew better, also worked at The Greenbrier. The first golf tournament I attended at The Greenbrier was in 1985, which was a seniors tournament. One of the golfers I recall seeing was Peter Thomson, who won The British Open on several occasions.
