There is no point producing items you can just buy (for example grenade launchers). Production cost is the same as purchase cost, plus you have to wait and pay your workers. On top of that you don't produce items you may actually want.

it's become a lot more stable, and you can actually win now. Why don't you try 2.6?

Don't send single fighters against big UFOs and don't equip fuel pods to your fighters. they make them slower and easier to hit. At the start of the game it might be easier to either lure those UFOs into your base defenses or to ignore them and only engage the unarmed ones.

I think the maze with the soldiers that don't disappear when you fight them is a very old-school Final Fantasy way of saying "this is a stealth level!" If not, then... it's weirder than it already is.

I love the ideas for this game, especially the leveling system, but it always felt like they didn't quite complete their ideas or polish them. The leveling system is hilariously broken. But man if it isn't fun and totally weird.

Yeah playing on hard looks rough, them Trandos are bullet (laser) sponges. They probably enjoy it. Get shot a lot as a rite of passage or something. They're crazy.
