😂 I said the exact same thing when I came across those gloomhands the first time 😂 And yes, I had to turn off the game and drink some coffee before I went back and stayed as far away as I could from them, at least until I was stronger and had better weapons. ✊🏻🙌🏻👍🏻

I encountered gloom hands when I am already jackep up with hearts and had a descent weapons to deal with them although I was terrified I managed to kill them but what comes after truly was definitely the good one.

This was my EXACT experience, same location and everything. Deja vu levels off the charts.

I encountered my first Gloom Hands in a cave where one of the shrines were inside. I avoided them like the literal plague that they are until I had enough resources (and the balls) to face one. You should've seen my first encounter tryna fight a frost gleeok after only finishing the Wind Temple dungeon. I fought off lynels in BotW with ease, so how hard could a three-headed dragon-esque creature be?

My first gloom hands is on tabantha mushrooms tree.

I ran in to my first one close to Hyrule Castle… it scared the crap out of me lol

So this wasn't the first time they had spawned it was the second time. Blessedly, I was climbing the first time and had the camera angle to the sky, wondering if the blood moons now happened during the day. Anyway, I had left Hateno and traveled close to one of my old hunting/monster part farming spots from BotW. The sky turns red again, I hear the screech and then turn the camera around just in time to see one of the hands snatch Link. I noped out of there back to the one shrine in Hateno after losing two hearts.

The korok must be absolutely fearless to hide near those creatures 😅

Best surprise Gloom hands, worst surprise the stupid walking trees. When I saw the walking tree I thought I was in the wizard of Oz. I thought the tree would throw bomb apples or something. Instead they tried to head butt me. I was disappointed. How about one gloom hand in a walking tree, that would be cool.

I remember the first time I encountered these I was thankfully on a mountain. I saw this spawn out of a Gloom pool and the sky turn red and I noped out of there so quick 😅

The theme that plays when you encounter gloom hands is creepy it like a darker version of beneath Hyrule castle theme

I surprisingly had an amazing first run in with them, got freaked out by the red sky and things coming at me so I chugged a speed 3 elixir and dusted them so quickly, I then grew a profound fascination with gloom and gloom hands

*In BotW, I HATED the malice (purple poisonous goop) and the guardians. Then TotK got rid of that and brought in gloom (hands). GREAT!! It's worse now. LoL!!*

They should have added more horror-esk enemies in this game. The gloom and moving trees were really cool. Wish there was more.

The gloom hand's screech is legit terrifying... that's not even mentioning that once you've slain the spawn for the first time, you can't rest easy yet due to Phantom Ganon right after the hands. Without a mini cliff to climb on or jump off, or having enough flower bombs to mass destroy those, they can chase for a fairly large radius

I wish we had gloom guardians, could you imagine the legs replaced with the gloom hands, it chases you down grabs you and puts you point blank in front of the guardians eye. That would have been amazing.

My first gloom freaked me out so much I ran and had the butterflies in my stomach in waves, reminded me of the good old days being chased by bullies to be beaten up...lol

My first encounter with them was where the Durian Forest was in BOTW. I went over there being like "let's see if these OP things are still here" and they popped out like the devs put them there as punishment

First time I met those hands was in akkala ruins, I saw the red aura with the enemy signal and thought "nah bro I came from botw, I can face anything" then the music started and I panicked, then I just jumped off the cliff

bro when to grab me and i realised it was faster than me i IMMEDIATELY shut the game off and said “oh nah you got that” 😭

I had the same experience on release day. Kept googling trying to figure out wtf it was, but couldn't find one single answer. I'm really shocked at how well the gloom hands were unspoiled.

My first time was in the large hollow tree stumps. I was hunting for Things(tm) and this monstrosity just appeared. I clambered up the tree stump and cried.

there's a huge swarm of these in some cave below a tower. i tried to go there, didn't look, fell in and got absolutely fucked. most horrifying experience i had in this game

(Un)fortunately my first encounter was on Death Mountain where a slope let me escape quickly via paraglider. I didnt get a good look at them and only saw the dark clumps at the time.

This game suddenly became a horror game.

First time I saw these was when I accidently glided into gloom spawn territory in the underground. One of the things grabbed me as soon as I touched down, and I died in sheer terror. I then respawned back in the middle of their territory (thanks auto save!). They immediately spawned back in and chased me up a dead tree. While they did their creepy twitching and flailing about, I kept shooting them with arrows, but they kept coming back. When I started thinking about making a break for it, they just suddenly died and left me so confused.
