I just got my LifeStraw pitcher 10 days ago, same exact one as in this video, and the water moves through the membrane painfully slow at about 2-3 drops every 5 seconds (could just be defective). I know it gets faster with more use, so I was just wondering how fast your water was filtering through at first, and how long did it take to go from drops to a steady stream like in this video?

Hi! We had the same issue when we first bought our LifeStraw Pitcher. We bought ours from Crate and Barrel and it turned out to be a floor model and the membrane filter was old and dried out and not working properly. We bought a new membrane filter and it worked like it does in the video from the get go. I think you might have a defective membrane like we did. I'm not sure where you purchased it from but maybe they can replace the membrane for a new one. Hope this helps.

Stupid question, but should you clean the water part with soap and water after everything? Or just rinse

We usually just rinse it with filtered water. But we have also washed it out with a drop of dawn dish soap in the water before. So totally up to you.

Won't the deck tiles slide to an open space? How do they stay without moving

The tiles have little pegs on the bottom, similar to cleats. Once you connect several of the tiles together, it's much heavier and harder to slide around. So far we haven't had any issues with them moving, but we also have a table and chairs on them which I'm sure helps.

We can imagine that already. But I still went ahead and bought a set of the plastic ones. I'm sure the wood will hold up after applying a sealer.

We will definitely do a long term review in the future to see how they hold up. So far it's held up well against the rain with the sealer on it.

Better than the Nespresso official. They ask you to clean the drain pan and grill during the sequence steps, which is irrelevant according to the instruction here. I thought the pan triggers a switch (magnetic microswitch) that forms part of a command sequence. Oh no, I am such an idiot to come to that conclusion. They did not mention or warn about using a bigger mug and I made a mess when the water came out overflowing.
