Potomac Shores Middle School is the middle school that is actually inside of the Potomac Shores neighborhood, but in my search it is currently unranked. Potomac Middle School is a different middle school in the area, that has the 4/10 rating, but our students here do not attend that middle school.

All thats a bunch of bs. Used those sites to decide what schools would be good for my kids when we moved states. Went from schools that were middle of the road to amazing according to the websites and my daughter went from C to A+. She went from hating school to loving it because it was so easy. The reality was she went from schools that didnt hold back about giving her the grades she deserved to a school that gave out such easy work that she was practically a super genius compared to her classmates who had been receiving this adulterated education. Of course everyone in the new school had great test results because the tests were the equivalent of what she took 2 years prior. I now ask for a copy of the curriculum as a base line of the education. If the school has latin and debate for 5th graders your kid is getting a way better education than the school a mile away with 99% averages that only teaches the bare minimum. Sure the school might look worse on paper because a few kids are failing but thats because its a better and more challenging education.

I've been here since 2003. Didn't buy till 2017. I was in condos initially. The rent was cheaper than owning, but more importantly renting allowed me to stay close to my job and be flexible. I knew I wasn't going to be in any location more than a few years so buying would be expensive and risky. I think a lot of young people are in that same position. When you're young it's nice to have flexibility because it can allow you to chase opportunities. Once you're older and more settled you're likely to stay in place longer and makes way more sense to purchase something more permanent.

I live very close to this new build and there are a few issues with it. It’s a modern build on a street that doesn’t have many modern designed homes. It’s on a busy street with an elementary school on it that gets very busy in the mornings and afternoons with pick up and drop offs. Parking is also not the greatest for guests if your having a large gathering.

Man, if I had a large family, I would certainly choose this house and design. On average of $225 per sq ft we talking $1.7 million for this home, or higher.

As someone who just purchased a home in the area, it's because 9/10 times, you'll lose the home if you have a home inspection contingency. Every home we looked at had multiple bids, most at over asking price, and if you ask for an inspection, you may as well not even make an offer on the house. I'm not saying its smart or makes sense, but it's 100% the reality of desirable properties in the DMV area. We lost 5+ offers to buyers that waived every contingency, including appraisal and home inspection. We started doing a pre-inspection with our inspector during walk throughs, and started waiving everything. TL;DR - if you're serious about purchasing a home in a desirable neighborhood in the DMV area, a home inspection will drastically lower your chances of your offer being accepted.

I didn't mind the hand. You're doing everything a realtor would do which is point out features/things. I'm not a squirrel, so I don't get distracted like one. Even my heavily AD/HD friends managed to watch without complaining. But we're humans, not squirrels 😒 The house isn't my style. I prefer a modern Victorian. Oxymoronic, I know.
