Just hook the lamp wires to the dimmer, there's only 4 different color wires, so only hook the correct wires to the other wires....lolololol

Dismantling a lamp is no problem even for me. I need close and correct knowledge of which wire goes to which wire on the lamp. I don't understand hot, neutral, etc. How do I know which wire is hot, which is neutral, etc. That's why I am searching youtube.

Well the bad news is your going to keep having to replace the the sensor module. It does not have the same ohms/ resistance that a incandescent light bulb has. So it just will interfere with the switching transistor. Cool video, Pretty lamp 👍

I have a light on that same order. Just wondering if there is a certain control module that you have to get? I look on Amazon and there's so many that you can purchase.

My lamp is a month old. Instead of a new module, can I just use a touch lamp socket?

I have a touch lamp, but it seems to be rusted what do you recommend? Everything else seems to be fine just the metal piece seems to have rusted
@ourheritageworks
@ourheritageworks 4 ай бұрын
Without knowing the type of metal I don't have any suggestions. For cast iron you can use 50% vinegar and water but that could eat the coating on the lamp. Maybe you could have it sand blasted and replated? This is outside my area of understanding.

You moved and talked faster than I could follow, and I didn't find any text for the recipe, but I think you said you used flour. At the end, you mentioned gluten-free flour. I'm not surprised it felt grainy using gf flour, but that may not have been the cause. Cornstarch is usually used for making pudding. After all the time and effort to measure the ingredients, I'm fine with taking the extra time to cook a regular batch of pudding. Personally, I make panna cotta instead of pudding. For quick chocolate pudding, I use one of the online recipes combining cocoa powder, avocado, vanilla and honey or maple syrup. I don't taste the avocado at all, and the texture is delightful.

Thanks for the comment. The ingredients included Cocoa Powder (I used Carob powder), Gluten Free Flour, Sugar, Powdered milk and salt. I did try one with Cornstarch about 6 months ago and got similar results. We preferred the cooked puddings to instant. Your cocoa powder, avocado, vanilla and honey version sounds better. Maybe I can find the recipe. I have never made panna cotta. I really want to find a good recipe for pudding. We will keep trying! Thanks for the comment and watching!!!

Any advice on how to actually diagnose and repair the circuit board on the existing module? I find most of the replacement modules are absolute junk and either don't work as well as the original or burn out soonafter replacement. I'd like to be able to replace bad parts on the component level.
@ourheritageworks
@ourheritageworks 6 ай бұрын
No advice. I find most electronics these days are like that. They are either good or NOT good. There seems to be little in the middle. Since it is an integrated circuit board inside, I don't think a "normal"/"average" person would be able to fix them. Good luck.

My grandma passed away last month, she always had this lamp in her living room and I just got it to use in mine, luckily there’s a switch on the plug so I can still turn it on/off but was bummed to find out the touch function wasn’t working. I’m very excited to see there’s a chance I could restore it to its former glory, thank you for the tutorial:)

Forgot to say to reduce the temperature to 350 after 10 minutes for 35-40. And do not melt the butter but add to top mixture in pats before adding top crust.

Hey 👋, hope you guys are doing good. I will give you my apple pie filling amounts and they always come out great. 5-7 apples 3/4-1 cups of sugar or what ever you use 2 -3 tbsp gluten free flour 1 1/2 cinnamon (I use a little more, or to taste) 1/2 nutmeg 3 tbsp butter Dash of salt Add everything but butter and stir well. Place in crust and dot with butter on top of apple mixture. Place in pie crust. Add topping and bake at 400 for 50-55 mins. I know that you can not have everything in the recipe, but I know that you can change it to meet your needs. I hope that this helps. My pies always come out great and tasty. God bless you both. Pam

Pam thanks for the helpful information. I have a feeling that I didn't get my filling hot enough for long enough. I used a combination of GF Flour (3Tbl) and Cornstarch (2tsp), which is similar to what's in your recipe. I am NOT giving up. I will try again sometime.

This is a great video, however you really should set up a 50/50 vinegar to neutralize the lye.
@ourheritageworks
@ourheritageworks 10 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting!! You make a good point. The lye should be removed as best as possible. I always start with dilution; I use water to make it easier to handle. That being said... I have a solution of 50/50 water and vinegar that I use for rust removal. I also use soap and water when I scrub them. Any lye that is remaining should be small or neutralized.

This sounds so good. One does need to Watch the ingredients in the imitation crab meat, many have wheat as part of the ingredients. So one may need to splurge a little and get real crab meat and use it sparingly.

Your pieces look very promising before you start. When I find pieces I don't know the history so I always strip them and re-season regardless. If they look questionable I check for lead. My two worse pieces to date was a Griswold 22" hotel skillet that was sticking out of the ground at a logging camp in the Smokies and a gate mark camp oven used as a bucket in someone's shop. I wouldn't even say the Griswold was pitted, it had divots. It was the maximum size that would fit in the electrolysis tank. The lady is a Griswold collector and a good customer so I restored it for her. The camp oven had rust, crud, paint and concrete mixed in it. I wasn't sure electrolysis would remove concrete but it did however this piece tested positive for lead. Electrolysis doesn't remove lead contamination but the guy was glad to have his family heirloom restored. It will still be a good decoration.

I was able to get some cement off of one. I was surprised it came off. I forgot that these were sometimes used to melt lead. Thank you for the reminder. I don't think mine were ever used in that manner though. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@@ourheritageworks The time in history that these were used lead was commonly used9658 in fishing lures, bullets, as well as other things. When I was a kid in the 60s and 70s I pored lead head lures with a small cast iron skillet. It was probably in the 90s that plumbers soider changed from 50/50 (half lead) to 95/5 which is only 5% lead and that is in waterlines. When you go into most buildings you're drinking from pipes soidered with 50% lead. lol We'll probably find out someday that lead won't hurt ya but for now...
