After 2 years with my mainline I’ve come to the realization that I’m not a flight attendant at all. I’ve been terribly lonely, severely depressed, and just angry all the time in the last 14 months. I was on reserve in IAD and then transferred to CLE to line chase. While it’s been a little better, it’s not enough to change my mind. The company I work for is totally apathetic to family emergencies. They punish me for pointing out safety concerns. And I’ve experienced instances of sexual harassment and assault that made me realize I don’t feel safe at all. August 6 will be my last day as a flight attendant and I can’t wait.

Why do flight attendants make such a big deal of resigning. People resign from their jobs all the time.
@willowclay5406 Жыл бұрын
I know it's difficult. You have choices that are right for you. It's harder with family obligations.

I love airplanes and airports so much....but the problem is that i love being alone and am kind of anti-social 😅....so as a flight attendant you''re always dealing with people and that is not at all for me....unless it's just me and the pilot o the plane 😂

Im still deciding whether i should study flight attendent. I feel like being a flight attendent is maybe not for me. Im type of person who gets lonely easily and introvert person but interested in becoming flight attendent , for me it seems glamarous job.

That type of job is more for single people in my opinion
@UnequivocallyME7 ай бұрын
It’s for people who enjoy a highly irregular schedule and constant change. I was single for 13 months and began missing a routine 9-5 after month 7. I’ll be resigning the end of the summer and I’m looking forward to moving on

I just resigned from being a flight attendant after 2 1/2 years. I was on reserve the whole time with the company so I TOTALLY understand what it felt like to have extra days of flying added. It was horrible. I have a husband and 2 daughter’s at the time (I just had another daughter in September and quit on maternity leave). They frequently added days onto my trips and it made me so upset and made my husband so annoyed. I knew I couldn’t go back with 3 kids. Reserve was so hard. I’m so sorry to hear about your husband’s grandfather ❤️

Just to add some perspective to regional versus mainline carrier FAs. Is there tougher competition to be a mainline carrier flight attendant or is it part of starting at a regional and then eventually working your way up to a mainline carrier? I would assume that the pay would be somewhat less at a regional starting out. Thanks in advance.
@CassieSiedlik3 жыл бұрын
There is definitely a tougher competition to be a mainline carrier FA. The pay is significantly less as a regional FA. Many people get hired as regional with hopes to get hired mainline in the future. Before I quit I was actually in the process of interviewing for Delta mainline.
@goutvols1033 жыл бұрын
@@CassieSiedlik Thanks for the reply. In regards to tougher competition, will the mainline carriers hire folks without prior experience from a regional? Is the competition from higher test scores, age, etc.?
