Hi I’m trying to prepare for 68w ait, I already swore in I ship out on April 17th, I’m not really worried about basic or the physical aspect as I’ve been a athlete all my life I’m just worried about emt phase of ait I heard some people have trouble with it and get distracted and it’s a super compressed course compared to the civilian course, and I’m worried because I haven’t taken a science class since 10th grade of high-school and it was only 1 semester because of Covid, I asked another person that was a 68w and they said just buy a anatomy and physiology for dummies book and get familiar with it and other then that just stay focused and don’t fuck around at ait because they want you to pass, any other advice of things I should try and familiarize myself with before I leave would be appreciated?

I just graduated AIT. So I got all the way to the final which is about 6 weeks into AIT and I failed it 3 times so I had to go all the way back to day 0. It sucked. I got recycled because of how fast paced and rapid the tests were. It helped me a lot getting recycled tho cause everything went so smooth after. Obviously just work hard the first time and get it done but just know it’ll be okay regardless. Start getting used to medical terminology if you really wanna prepare. Get an nremt pocket prep app and just study that for a little bit everyday. It’ll take you far. GOOD LUCK! You’ll do great

@@appleboii_1647 thanks for the response so would you say the course is kinda made so even people with little to no medical/science knowledge or prior experience can pass if they pay attention and work hard? because like I said I didn’t have the opportunity for many science classes especially in more recent years. Also at what point did you get to fill out your wishlist with your top 3 duty stations if your going active?

@soldiertech2875

No you only have “free time” after final formation during the week and that is usually from 6 to 8 or 9ish. You have the weekends off but thats only if your have an average of 75 and up. If not then you have to go to different formation times during the day, I would not recommend it because the 68W course is enough information in itself.

Hi, thanks for the breakdown. I went through 91B training at FSH 40 years ago. At the time we were one of the first classes to go through a 10 week course rather than the 6 week course. Glad to hear they’ve lengthened it even more. Stick with it. Medic training was a great start to my professional life. After the army I was a phlebotomist and lab tech, and then a patient data analyst, then a program manager for medical software, then a pm at Microsoft, retired at 37. I always say that it all started back at FSH, opportunities were presented and I just took them.
