Reaves was hustled off the ice almost immediately so its not like there was much time for anyone to do anything. Having said that, the only person on that Oilers team.that would have the guts to go after Reaves is Darnell Nurse so there you go.

I remember all of the hundreds of times I've accidentally delivered cross checks straight to the back of referees I "didn't see." Honest mistake! How could you fault that guy for not seeing the ref when he only had 20 seconds of slowly skating straight towards him to realize there was about to be a collision? Everyone knows you need at least 300 yards to change directions or stop all together while on ice skates, they are the mile long fully loaded freight trains of the sporting world! Besides, with all of those huge and unmistakable black and white stripes on the ref's shirts, they are practically invisible to the naked eye. They should have had the ref's wearing something to make them stand out against the backdrop of the ice, maybe something black like the Hockey Puck itself since it was designed to stand out and be easy to see. Oh, wait...

Literally these hits are supposed to be made. you're supposed to punish your opponent for trying to make stretch passes. This is the point of hitting and hockey. It makes me upset that every one (almost all of em) good hits are challenged by a dumbass fight.

You gotta love the fight in Winnipeg.....running away from the league but still taking no prisoners after being wiped up by the Stanley Cup champs. ALL these were clean hits.

I was a season ticket holder for the Thrashers, that opening night with Pavs, you could see fans of both teams just watching. The game didn't matter anymore, everyone just making sure he was okay. Sometimes people forget athletes are human too, and stupid things happen. Much respect to the Capitals broadcast for their handling of the situation, and making sure everyone knew that absolutely nothing dirty happened, he just collapsed from what was later diagnosed as "severe dehydration".

I'm so tired of watching Reaves injure player after player. His only plan for his hits is to HURT someone. He's a constant repeating danger and I'm so sick of him and other repeat offenders with no regard for the health and safety of their fellow players being allowed to step on the ice time and time again while another guy's body and livelihood are damaged and jeopardized.

The NHL has gone so soft.. can't even do simple checks now without someone getting upset. You are grown ass men, time to start acting like it. Take the hit and move on.

those Florida announcers clearly don't know anything about hockey. That Pionk hit was a textbook hip-check. Clean, legal and beautifully executed

Normally I hate when guys throw when down but this time was warranted. Bortuzzo came off the bench to fight only. Then cheap shots Kastelic. Yea I’d punch when they were down too. Also isn’t it an automatic 1 game if you come off the bench to fight

Once they throw off their gloves it needs to be an immediate 10 game suspension, $25,000 fine per player. The fights are childish, and they all look stupid. Act your age, not your shoe size. The clubs should be automatically fined an additional amount.
