I heard about Danny Spanos from my friend Jack who, like Danny, was also drummer for Redbone for a little while and who also just passed away🥲Both amazing guys and very talented musicians. Then, found Danny’s music videos. He’s Really good! Also found the later video of him in the car interview, talking about his experiences. These guys were in the same circle and worked with, or dealt with the same “big business”, rough & seedy people in Hollywood. Hollywood and “the business” is a not so nice, rough world from way back when and still exists to this day. It’s so NOT glamorous. It’s a dirty world and the Bigger they become, the Dirtier it becomes with the sacrifices and all of the other dirty stuff they have to endure to get there. Thankfully, we were somewhat overprotective parents and constantly by our son’s side throughout the Hollywood life and experiences. Along with Jesus. Always kept him safe. Never fell into those wrong hands. He never had to and would never choose to. Friends with some very famous celebrities, met some of the seedy people but never harmed nor caught up in the deep, darkness of it all. We thank Jesus for that. Had we known that ANY of this kind of stuff went on, our son would never have been involved in Hollywood nor the entertainment industry. NEVER. Rest in Heavenly peace Jack and Danny. Thank you for the wonderful music.

For me, the Danny Spanos version will always be #1 for this song, but these guys are the orginals. Streetheart rocks no matter what.

Nice version. Canadian band Streetheart wrote it in 1983, but their LP never got released until 1984. Spanos just got his recording released first, but he didn’t write it.

His was the first I heard, as it happened. And as it happened I was in love with a girl named Sherie at the time. Crazy. It was much later that I caugh onto the Streetheart version, but this Spanos version was the original for me, as much as I love Streetheart.

Great vocals by Danny. Also, I love his "Looks like Trouble" record >> Lorraine is a great song <<. He recorded this song (Hot Cherie) first, but its written by Randy Bishop & Streetheart. You can find the Streetheart version (released later) on their "Buried Treasures" album. The song was also covered by a band called Brunette, the german rock band Bonfire, and not to forget Hardline.

I knew Danny and his wife Carol. He was a premier drummer on the Hollywood circuit and remember 1983 very well in the high deserts at his house. He gave me my first real drum lessons and I gave him lyrics and friendship. Long story. RIP Danny and Carol? I hope you are well.

@CBHarveyАй бұрын
@@onmas909Ditto! Heard your good man’s song on an FM campus station with the sunroof open and wind blowing in Baton Rouge Louisiana in 1982. I think your bro and his band took this song exactly where it needed to be, artistically. It blew/blows me away. I found it again 30 years later when the internet came along. The music industry missed the boat on this monster opus. Crescendos (is that an adjective? it is now) so strong. It’s just a great song, and a great production. And your late buddy, lead vocalist Danny Spannos, kicked its ass.

This hit the airwaves in Louisville, Kentucky when it was released back in 1983... it had a good run for a few months... sadly it never quite made it to a cult one hit wonder, like say, "Lunatic Fringe" by Red Ryder (Tom Cochran's band) that would get played decades after it was released... Danny Spanos seems to have fallen off the face of the earth... but there is this short interview clip from 2019... he looks radically different...
