Why give something that can be done in 1 step, 3 steps? Isn't it easier to level change, step and punch simultaneously?
@RingKinetix

Yep, you’re right. The content is meant for folks that have never boxed before, or are considering starting. so breaking everything down mechanically is easier to digest. If you have some level of experience, this probably won’t apply.

Only thing is you tend to “cock” your jab before throwing it. Kind of telegraphs the punch, and it’s also kind of useless since the goal of a jab isn’t necessarily to get as much power as possible.

I would work on parrying the shots and use your lead hand to dictate the distance while working the jab.

No matter how tall you are, when someone throws a punch and your head is there target, you just move the target(head) over far enough to clear the punch. No matter how tall or short, the concepts the same because the target is going to be what they punch at . I hope i make sense to you. Plus the advice on perrying shots , and dictating distance , moving and jabbing is a great way for someone your length to fight. The reply before mine by ringkinetix is good info. No. Never slip slip. It’s slip roll roll. You never come back across after a slip for another. You will run into a cross. This is all modern boxing shit. Don’t know where it came from or how it started. Old schoolers knew better and never did. We’re much better fighters back then than now.
@RingKinetix
@RingKinetix 5 ай бұрын
We totally agree! We both prefer slipping and rolling or slipping then closing the gap, so we don’t get caught with that cross. Just using this for head movement purposes. Appreciate the feedback!!!

I feel like most slip or roll combos are pretty interior intermediate. Any combos that include angle changes with a forward stepping movement or a 1 2 1(forward step stiff jab) short upper into 2 straight. Would be more considered advanced?

bro you are hitting nothing with that hook, if you are gonna do this combination you need too move in with the cross so the hook lands on either the body or head. Not just the air..

Right now we’re focusing on just stand still movement. We’ll start implementing more footwork in the later videos. With that said you are correct 🙌🏽

I think you should twist your left leg with the hook for maximum power
@RingKinetix
@RingKinetix 6 ай бұрын
You can twist and turn over the left foot when throwing that left hook which would be more of a power shot. Try just dipping your knee to the inside to have a quicker hook this will keep you in better position.
