Thank you for all the Jiu Jitsu content you've shared. I hope you are getting healthier and recovering every day. Really appreciate all that I've learned from you.

what about the dummy sweep? I'm guessing the answer is to step/keep one foot back, but I feel like that wasn't really obvious here. if someone stands up with their feet that square to me I'm just grabbing ankle and sweeping normally. I'll give it a shot anyway!

We roll a lot at my gym. We don’t spend a lot of time on technique. It’s made me tough as hell. But it’s hindered my progress because my technique is not as sharp because of it. When I was in wrestling, we drilled the moves like crazy and grappled a lot, plus they had me lifting weights and running up and down stairs and all around the school.

This is, by far, the best video I've seen on the D'arce. Prof is super articulate and the video stop action w the banners emphasizing the key point is world class. I can't believe this is free content. Thank you for this video.

7 years later.... Why do you not want just the wrist? I find success by using the blade of my wrist BUT if this is stronger I'll start doing it.

I've just restarted my Jiu Jitsu journey and Tom's videos have been an inspiration of how hyper dangerous killers can actually be wonderful teachers and kind people. I just came across this video. Despite the assurances, I can see that this was more of a "goodbye for now" rather than "see ya soon". Tom, I hope you have found health and happiness. If we don't see you again, you have provided such a wonderful record for us to use for our own growth. Be well mate.

Im just afraid to get injured

Don't worry, during your ordinary class you shouldn't get injured. Stay away from the open mat classes for at least 3-4 weeks and be careful who you're gonna roll with. Don't roll with the aggressive guys.

This is a very situational escape. Can you please include the sit up escape and the elbow knee escape to combo this for the white belts? They will try this and get stuck because it only offers 1 direction that is commonly countered.

Still the best instructionals anywhere! Always come back to the these videos. Short, sweet, informative and to the point. Explains in six minutes what some instructionals take two hours to do and cost a ridiculous amount of money! Just need you back on KZbin dude!

I've been doing the Von Flue for many many years and I always get a tap out of it once I get it locked in. Also, I do a variation of the rear naked choke that I always get as well. I've never seen anyone else use it so it would be interesting to see what you guys think. If I have back control and I have the arm around the neck and they are defending by pulling down the arm like your supposed to I will shift my weight over to that arm side and lean forward and then grab the back of my own neck and then lean into it. It's actually tighter than a normal rear naked choke and I've surprised lots of guys with it because they aren't expecting it. I've actually won competitions with it and then the other guy asks me what in the hell it was. I'd like to see a video on that if your guys understand what I'm saying.
