Often times with Allen key bolts torque bolts they can just get one corner stripped out of the entire head and the whole thing is ruined. You can’t unscrew it if your driver can’t catch any grip. And without that corner well, it’s useless. I just drill in with a screw removal kit and back it out. Easy peasy costs like 5$ to replace it’s nothing

Carrying a tube is not useless even if you are going tubeless. If you get a puncture that can’t be plugged you will need a tube.

its normal, we have a tech, and she works her A off. super hard worker. take 60% of the tickets that come in. for the same task over and over. but that's as far as she will ever go. as soon and the work demands more she is not capable of doing it. And that the employment world. If i could earn what i earn now laying bricks/building walls etc i would change jobs today. Those are hard work jobs, but require very little skill as anyone can do it. So it ends up being this person is will to do the same job for cheaper, pulling down the average salary for those types of rolls. you get paid for your skills.

Anecdotal evidence incoming: I have been riding a 650b Sight for several years, switched to the non idler Optic, moved on to a non idler 29er Sight and now onto a home build 115mm high pivot bike with idler. That bike is the most fun bike I have ever ridden. So, at least in my experience, the opposite of what you claim is true. This makes me wonder if you have ever ridden a high pivot bike with an idler, or if you just make assumptions.
@JustFranaАй бұрын
Dude I make wild assumptions while making my coffee in the morning. I'm not assuming the bikes wouldn't be spectacular but I'm just saying they're probably not achieving what they claim for the trade off of more complication. I have ridden high pivot idler bikes but not extensively.

Whats the inner and outer Diameter of the spacer and the thickness? I want to remove the fox mudguard and can't find my spacers
@JustFranaАй бұрын
I have no idea but I remember them looking very similar to the large crush washers used on the damper side , if you have a few try to slip them onto the buttons and see if they fit snug

My chain doesn’t come apart that easy.
@JustFranaАй бұрын
Depends on a million things but things that helped with this vid is that the chain was worn to death but also 9spd was pretty easy by hand , it gets progressively harder as you go 10/11/12spd. I have successfully done it with a 11spd but vice grips were involved

Do you recommend to race this bike in enduro races? And the low stack how do you deal with it?
@JustFrana2 ай бұрын
Depends on how rough the terrain is, really really big stuff I would opt for the slash but more tame fast stuff i would go with the ex. The bike really punches above its weight. The stack i haven't found to bother me as much as the global consensus says, its definitely noticeable but i adapted to it pretty quick. But i do find myself looking at riser bars now and then, currently have the spacers all under the stem and 15mm rise bar on.

Ah that's because the in South Africa certain manufacturers don't really sell directly to the public and if you have a business and potentially contacts within that business you can negotiate the purchase price. The manufacturer will just sell it to you as joe public at retail or just below.

Sounds like the grumps that cried over tubeless, 29'ers, 1x chain rings, and dropper posts. The high pivot and idlers isolate pedal forces from your suspension. This makes the rear damping feel more consistent and predictable. This is good for any amount of travel. Oh it also doesn't add more suspension linkages; just moves the pivot points.
The day will come when everybody will get bored of this extra complication and weight, and bikes like my 27.5", 130mm Transition Scout will be like gold dust. Bikes that were never meant to chase times, just to have stupid fun on the way down.

after riding an HP Range for over 2 years. I can 100% see how high pivot would be awesome on the Optic and Sight. I hope to never ride another bike without it.
