Thank you for your video. I’m currently working on Unit 8 in the program, and up to this point, I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA. However, I’m struggling with this unit and am concerned about how it may impact my progress. Could you please clarify how the program determines eligibility for graduation? Is it based on the overall average of all units, or does the evaluation rely more heavily on Unit 8?

I have got a question about the clinicals. Can you film yourself teaching in any K-6 class, being that your seeking a K-6 teaching license, Or do you have to stay in the same classroom( let’s say Gr. 3) for the duration you are in the program.

Is the GACE the same as Praxis?
@everydayeducator48992 жыл бұрын
The GACE is specific to the state of Georgia. Here is the link: www.gace.ets.org/about The praxis is usually excepted across the U. S. Here is the link: www.ets.org/praxis/site.html

Hey Stephanie! Thank you so much for sharing your teaching certification journey through Moreland University's TEACH-NOW program! Your reflection on the challenges with filming yourself are exactly what I experienced when I did my own self-observations and reflections. I would be interested in knowing more about how the program has impacted your career and teaching practice now that a few years have gone by.

I finally finished the Moreland program that was a very long 9 months for me but I am grateful that I am done with that. I am studying for the Gace currently and just wondered how long would you say to study for it before I take the Gace test?
@everydayeducator48992 жыл бұрын
Congrats!! I would say I studied off and on for about 2-3 months only because it was not everyday and I was teaching full time and a part time on the weekends. 😅 Best of luck!

How did you find out your scores so quickly? I had to wait a week last year to find out.
@everydayeducator48992 жыл бұрын
When my test was over it gave me the score before the screen resets, then I just went to the GACE website to figure out where my score landed on the grading scale. It only flashed the score for a few seconds so be ready to memorize. Lol

4th year 4th grade teacher here as well! Did you make your morning slide or find it somewhere? I absolutely LOVE it and have been trying to look for/create something similar for a few years!

Heyyyy! I made it all on Google Slides. The background picture I searched through Google images. I usually change it to match the month, February-something with pink or hearts, March- clovers until St. Patrick’s Day and then I switched to spring flowers. The font is Oswald.

Loved your ideas. I do many of them as well. Instead of the morning/welcome slides, I use a large whiteboard easel to write all of those things. It is more work and not as aesthetic. I asked my students if they preferred me to display on the smart board and they said no lol. I teach third grade. Also, I love your library. It inspired me to get mine colored coded as well!!

I went on the GACE website and looked up the subcategories that you’re being tested on. I used that as a guide on what I needed to study. Some areas have a higher percentage than others. I’ll link an example.
Check your local library for the study guide! I test tomorrow and just found out the library has the study guide

Hey Stephenie! Girl, it's like we have SO much in common. I'm a Georgia native (Savannah to be exact) who relocated to upstate NY. I teach Middle School ELA & History. Our semester starts back in two weeks. Whew chile! The struggle. I'm a new KZbinr and would love to collaborate with you on a teaching (or lifestyle) video if you'd ever be interested. Absolutely NO pressure! Congratulations on your first full week back at school and I hope you have a happy and more importantly safe school year. <3

It's my first year teaching and I'm coming into a SUPER EMPTY classroom. Literally just desks and empty cabinents, what are some essentials you think I'll absolutely NEED?
@everydayeducator48993 жыл бұрын
Hey Samantha, basic essentials in my opinion are: 1. Hot glue gun 2. Double sided tape (I used gorilla glue mounting tape) 3. Laminator (super convenient when prepping over summer) 4. Planner (dates and information can blur together especially at the beginning of the year) 5. Comfortable shoes (your feet will thank you) 6. Confidence (don’t let the kids walk all over you) 7. Clear routines and procedures (you can find freebies on tpt) 8. Electric pencil sharpener 9. I would definitely shop Facebook marketplace, Amazon and/or create an Amazon wishlist (you’d be surprised at the support) 10. NOT A NEED BUT HELPED ME ALOT: sterile totes for organization and end of year packing. Hope this helps!
