Hey Stephanie! Thank you so much for sharing your teaching certification journey through Moreland University's TEACH-NOW program! Your reflection on the challenges with filming yourself are exactly what I experienced when I did my own self-observations and reflections. I would be interested in knowing more about how the program has impacted your career and teaching practice now that a few years have gone by.

Great video and looking forward to the update since I live in Georgia also and I am looking at what route is best for the teaching certification since the Georgia website is very confusing and a ton of steps that are not clear.
@everydayeducator48994 жыл бұрын
I would recommend looking into non traditional routes like Moreland University. And also looking into taking the GACE tests (basic skills, etc). I took a couple (special Ed reading, writing and social studies) before applying to positions which I think helped my resume. I would also try subbing or being a paraprofessional as a way to get your foot in the door if you can take the low pay. I hope this helps!

Hi Stephanie, great content! I am a South African currently teaching English in China (been 2years here). I am also working on my teaching certificate with a South African college and I just need some insight on how I can teach in America

Thank you for watching and wow that’s awesome! I would definitely check out Moreland University, moreland.edu/, if your looking for an alternative teaching certificate or I would check out the GaPSC, www.gapsc.com/MoveToGeorgia/MoveToGeorgia.aspx, and look at the educators outside the US page. I hope this helps! Good luck 🤞🏾

What exams you took for Georgia ?
@VickiNelson173 жыл бұрын
HI! Thanks for the video! Did you ever get certified first in DC, Arizona, or Hawaii and then transfer it over to Georgia? If so, did you have problems with the transfer process? If not, how did you obtain your Georgia license?
@everydayeducator48993 жыл бұрын
No, I didn’t have to get certified in DC, Arizona, or Hawaii. Since Moreland is accredited most states, including Georgia, will grant reciprocity. That just means I can apply directly to the GaPSC for my license once Moreland sends over the necessary documents (transcript, program completion document, etc) to the GaPSC, it’s pretty straightforward from there. I called GaPSC myself and they are super nice and walked me through everything. If you want I can upload a video of the license process itself, if your interested. That was a lot, hope it helped at least a little. 😅

@@everydayeducator4899 Thank you so so much!! That was so helpful! If it wouldn't be too much work for you, I would love to see how the process went for you!~~

@@everydayeducator4899 Hi! Thank you for mentioning this info on how you could apply direct to your desired state (Georgia). I thought reciprocity meant to get certified in one of Moreland's three mentioned states and then use that certification to transfer it elsewhere. I found this part helpful. Thanks again :)

I teach Healthcare Sciences in Ga. did they still make you take program admissions? I have taken Ethics and currently teach on a Permit.

No I did not take the program admissions. I was able to exempt with my ACT scores.

Great Video! Planning on starting my Teaching Certification in March. I applied for the Masters in Education and was accepted. Quick Question. I will need the Teachers Certification and Masters, do I need to apply for them separately? Also do you do the Masters Program at the same time as the Teacher's Certification or did you do the Teacher's Certification first then the Masters separately. Again really like the video and hope you can get back to me on this one.
@everydayeducator48994 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching and congrats on your acceptance!!! 🎉 1. I applied once and it was for the masters and certification option. 2. You complete the certification program first and then you select your second start date for the masters program. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi, thank you so much for this helpful video. I am also from Georgia. Do you know if this program is approved by GaPSC? Also, I wonder if you can take the GACE instead of the PRAXIS. Thank you!
@everydayeducator48994 жыл бұрын
Yes I think they only thing I have to do is file the necessary paperwork for GaPSC once I take the Praxis. Also I have to take it as a requirement for the program. Thanks for watching!

Filming yourself is actually an awesome way to self evaluate and make improvements. What is the price range for this school? I never heard of it, but I haven’t had the need either. Lol! Hope you get to take that test soonz

Hey thanks for the video :) I'm wondering if you have any tips for how to find teaching positions without a teaching license? I want to be teaching while pursuing a teaching certificate. Do you have any insight? Thanks :)
@shariharris96744 жыл бұрын
Have you thought about working as academic interventionist? All you need is a bachelor's degree for that position.
@everydayeducator48994 жыл бұрын
Hey I literally applied to everything before I got my first teaching position. I didn’t have anything but my BA and not in Education. My principal really worked with me and I was hired with a provisional contract (I think that’s the right term) and it stated I had to enroll into a certification program before a certain date in order to get a another contract for the next school year. Also I worked as a paraprofessional for a year which I think helped get my foot in the door. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and good luck!

Great video I am a para in GA and would love to teach. I was thinking about the GA Tap program but I am still undecided. Could you make more vids about your process. I have so much questions and I know other do too. So do the certificate transfers to a Ga certificate? Do you still have to take the gace
@everydayeducator48994 жыл бұрын
Sorry for late reply! I plan on doing an updated video soon ( this school year has been crazy so bare with me 🙏🏾) You would still need to apply for Ga certification which Moreland University will help walk you through and I did have to take the GACE but it was more so for my job not the program. I will work to create an updated video that will answer more questions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out in the mean time!

Hi! I live in FL, how am I able to check if Moreland offers reciprocity with my state? Thanks for the info I am very interested.
@everydayeducator48993 жыл бұрын
Hey thank you for watching! I know each state is different so I would check out this link, moreland.edu/teacher-certification-guide/blog-post-title-three-a6tyl?rq=Reciprocity, that should help answer that question. Moreland is also very good about answering questions via phone, 1 844 283 2246. Hope this helps and good luck!!!

Thanks for the informative video! I have a few other questions I was hoping you could answer. I have been researching this program. I would be completing it while teaching first grade full-time. They estimate there's 15-20 hours worth of schoolwork a week. On average how much time did you spend on schoolwork a week? Was there a particular module that was more time consuming? Others that were not? This information would help me with deciding when to start the program. TIA. 🤗 Also, you mentioned the Praxis test had to match the clinicals, this is a requirement from the school or your state?

Here is the link to the GaPSC website for prospective educators: www.gapsc.com/ProspectiveEducator/StepsToTeach/Home.aspx Once I found a program (Moreland University), it was pretty straight forward. I went the non-traditional route since my bachelors degree is not in education.
