I really go back and forth with this question. There are days when I prefer the smooth refinement and maneuverability of the speed twin… a gentleman’s bike that one. And then there are days when I just like to rough it up with that RNineT boxer motor which makes me feel more like a cowboy… Both scratch a different itch… my wife is scratching her head with my answer😅 Thanks for watching

I know what you mean…It’s too bad that Unitgarage has no local stores (in East TN) that allows the consumer to physically compare their products side-by-side… These are well made bags of high quality and match the retro styling of the speed twin… The bags I bought were just the right size for my work stuff and some tools. It is unusual that I carry the two bags at the same time but I bought two just in case I need to load more items for longer trips such as the occasional overnighters. Thanks for watching

Why. What is the point??? Here in Europe you have more and more rules regarding abusive sound, and more, you have roads that are forbidden for motorcycles. All you guys that feel so entitled, its my freedom bl bla bla, but then you ruin all of our freedoms just for a louder bike. Congrats.

That is pure bullshit. If they close roads even for stock bikes (yes they do in Germany or Austria), then it is not about loud exhaust. It is power trip from state. We call it salami method - small slice by slice and in the end there is nothing left. It starts with mountain roads, continues with city parts and ends who knows where.

Hi David! Thanks for watching. As far as the ride goes, honestly, I don’t really notice a difference from stock. I also don’t weigh very much (maybe 180-190 with gear). I’m no expert though. I just thought that the ohlins definitely made the bike look more top-shelf. Ride safe! Cheers.

Hello, good ride with nobody on your way, a great pleasure. for my safety i use an app called "LibertyRider" (i'm french, so i don't know if you can subscribe it ). your phone detect your ride, your crashes and call you. if you can't answer because you are possibly wounded, they call emergency and give your GPS position. You can also send a SMS with your track in real time so your family and friends can follow you. ride safe. i recently bought the speedy in orange colour ;)

Flash that ECU. Triumph left a lot of power and response on the table, restricted away in software... We tuned mine on the dyno with an X-pipe, stock headers, stock mufflers, stock air filter... and got nearly 104hp at the wheel, and 85ft/lbs and way better midrange throttle response... Now we get effortless 2nd gear power wheelies and its a proper little sportbike, hidden inside a tweed jacket.

Get TuneECU and an Android device and flash the ECU. These things are so restricted from the factory. I did a simple x-pipe and then got rid of the restrictions and then tuned it. 104hp and 85ft/lbs at the wheel on the dyno. I have since added Ohlins shocks and damper, K-Tech racing forks, Michelin Road 6 tires, etc... Will be doing a track day on it at Road Atlanta in the spring, can't wait.

@andrewbecker3700
@andrewbecker3700 2 жыл бұрын
@@8Jericho8 Pretty sure the dealer can't remove your catalytic converter? It's not a hard job really. No special tools required except a T-55 Torx bit. Just need to support the bike without the kickstand, in order to remove the left side frame rail. Took me a couple hours, but I dilly dally alot. Oh, you'll need to purchase new intermediate pipes because the catylic converter is welded to them on the new Speed Twin. So unless your willing to cut up your factory exhaust (which I don't recommend) you'll have that small added expense. I found some chrome intermediate pipes on E-bay for $99 delivered. I bought a British Customs competition X-pipe with the bike from the dealer. So approx. $300 for parts and if you install them yourself it's reasonable. It's the best mod you can do on the bike, period.
@RetroRickey
@RetroRickey Жыл бұрын
@@andrewbecker3700 Yes, a dealer absolutely will remove a cat. Secondly when you remove a cat or go with a full exhaust now you have to tune /flash the bikes ECU. Just removing the baffles tor only doing slip on cans, that is not required.
@andrewbecker3700
@andrewbecker3700 Жыл бұрын
@@RetroRickey I don't know where you heard removing the cat on a second gen Speed Twin requires an ECU flash? But it's not true. Will a custom tune allow more power, yes. Is it necessary, no.

If your willing to throw out your 2 year factory warranty, and have a dealer bend you over for mods that in many cases accomplish zero horsepower gains, go for it.

There is no performance benefit of removing baffles. If anything the bike will run a little leaner, and therefore a little hotter. An ecu tune with just baffles removed will only add 3-4 horsepower at best so its really not worth getting the tune. This is strictly a sound mod.
