I just bought this book, waiting for it to arrive. Not that I need it, it’s just for reading material and maybe get some interesting information from it. I’ve been a neo-pagan for about 30 years and learned and experienced as I went along on my journeys. I stopped invoking long time ago, also due to lingering energies and residue. I evoke through prayer and communication. I’ve been connected to Goddess Hulda for a long time now, she is the one who came to me and introduced herself to me, and Im going with that. I also have a lot of greek in my DNA, and even though I can connect with Hekate, I don’t get the same energies as I get from Hulda. It is a journey of exploring and experiencing. The way the dark Goddess felt to me in my 30’s is totally different now that I’ve gone into my 60’s. Her book may reflect her experiences, and the the experiences of younger women, and the way they feel about the dark goddess, and most feel very empowered over their experiences. The direction Hulda placed me on is the natural nature and elemental paths, and how we are part of the soil and transformative energies, etc. I take from books only that which is interesting and useful for me, and let go of the rest, and respect the efforts of the authors.

Lovely that you bought the book and sounds like you’ve had a lot of experience. There is respect to be given to all writers, indeed. There is also caution to be called out when an author says what they have written is for or can be used by trauma survivors and then the material doesn’t seem to be written from a trauma informed perspective. I sincerely hope you find something of value within its pages. I chose to leave most of it.

Might I suggest Sister, that a home altar be veiled (covered, hidden) at all times and only be uncovered when the dedicant has entered into a state of harmony with the spirits of the altar.

Might I suggest Sister, that circle casting be reserved for the initiated believers for it consecrates the space and that calling the quarters can be for nonbelievers and believers for it serves to invite the spirits/Gods/guardians to join with the group. I only call the quarters with a mixed group.

Super cool video on the cauldron, thank you for the inspiration ✨🙏 I absolutely agree with the cauldron belonging to the element of earth, because of everything you mention and also because it’s just giving me Earth vibes through and through... For me that is unmistakably and feels veeery different from water energy, which is perfectly and purely aligning with the chalice (without all kinds of other confusing tools added). I actually thought understanding the cauldron to symbolize earth was the “real” and original and most common way, at least that’s what I heard the most from traditional witches and practitioners! Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing your take on things and for keeping the essence clear 🥰
@savannahpipilottajenssen
@savannahpipilottajenssen 3 ай бұрын
At the same time I’m also agreeing with the idea of the cauldron symbolizing and combining all elements at once, which actually isn’t against the wisdom of the cauldron belonging (mostly) to earth at all! For isn’t it the Earth, that truly contains, holds, creates and transforms it all and all of us - inside of her, upon her and in her atmosphere all elements are buzzing around, working together as a whole in that one living and breathing organism. I just feel that’s supreme Earth wisdom 🌍

I have a question about the projective hand. I'm left handed but I use my right hand for everything else, it seems to be my more dominant hand. Would I use my right hand during spell casting?
@enigmaticwitchcraft
@enigmaticwitchcraft 5 ай бұрын
Excellent question! Not an easy answer. ..it really depends on why you use your right hand for everything else. Is it because when you were growing up you weren't provided left handed options for things like scissors? Or because you truly favor your right hand?

What if one was gifted one that was made completely out of Selenite? From handle to tip.
@enigmaticwitchcraft
@enigmaticwitchcraft 7 ай бұрын
Definitely don’t get it wet! So being Selenite, it’s going to give an extra punch to cleansing and potentially opening portals. I would also advise to be sure there isn’t anything you aren’t being honest with yourself about before using in rituals. Selenite tends to cleanse the mind and can uncover things you may be trying to avoid, and shouldn’t be. Congratulations, that’s a pretty cool gift though.

Spiders have been a hot topic in my family. I was frightened by a spider when I was a child, and my father did not approve of my reaction. He made it his business to change my mind. I respect them now. My father and I almost got into a fight over the incident. There is a spider friend who now resides in my window above the sink, and that's fine.

This is a great video. I've always looked at the unexplained like this, an educated person may explain the science, and then I ask, well, how does that work? Then, they break it down to molecules. How does that work? Then, they break it down to atoms. I ask how that works and how that works until they explain that they are still researching but don't know why it works. There may not be an end to the science, but there is no reason anything should work at all. They don't know why things are. They just know it is. The magic bonds all that together and makes a story. Why? I dunno, it's magic.

So glad you loved the video, thank you for watching. There are various reasons to use a mirror. For us we keep a mirror in our cauldron when it is not in use, to deflect any residual energy. Like not wanting the incubator to be incubating any left overs on automatic.

@@tabathabradley8324 yes, I think it could if you gave those things that job to do. We like to think of it as just recognizing energy as energy, it is pure…we are the ones that give it intent. A mirror could be a magnificent vessel to reflect that truth. Hope you had a merry solstice.

There was an episode of the Simpsons where a coyote was Homer's spirit guide. The coyote told Homer to find his soul mate. To which Homer replied, "That's easy. My soul mate is Marge." The coyote replies ... "Is she?" I believe the coyote voice was Johnny Cash. Good episode! I have some spiritual guides. It's interesting how they appear and walk with us.

Coyote is strong medicine, tough lessons. I know some close family with that guide. A Johnny Cash coyote for Homer makes total sense! Everyone has guides, it’s just a matter of if they listen, if they look…how open they are to what they hear and see. Sometimes we literally need smacked in the face by them, lol. Some of us are harder to get points across to than others.

I have a question. I am a knife maker, and for some reason I have been compelled to make an Athame. I don't know why, I am not particularly Wiccan, although I do have friends who practice. My question is, does it need to be relatively sharp? What would be a good handle material? I heard black in color. For some reason, my mind wants to oxidize silver and use silver plates on the handle. Thank you
@enigmaticwitchcraft
@enigmaticwitchcraft 9 ай бұрын
The blade of an Athame does not need be sharp. It isn’t used for cutting physical material. Ebony is traditional. I think an oxidized silver would a fine material as well. Many practitioners outside of Wicca use a ritual blade.

Indeed one would hope tis the case. We think of the hedge witch as one whose practice is dominated by astral travel and/ or shamanic trance journeying and living in a manner with one foot firmly in the physical while the other is in the otherworld. A master of multi dimensional existence with balance and skill…living in the liminal. So yes, all witches were they hedge riders, what a force we should be. The way of the witch is to walk many worlds indeed. Welcome, Hope you found something to your liking here. Brightest blessings and darkest wishes.

They often like to hang around our property. Owls too, at night. We had a golden eagle that we thought was making a nest, but she seems to have moved on. 🖤 Many of childhood trauma warriors don’t realize or recognize what dissociation is. It becomes our normal way of being. We are all natural hedge witches indeed, it’s just a matter of acceptance ( that is the opposite of resistance) and intentional practice to gain control…in a healthy way. That part is different for everyone. Good luck on your journey, let us know if we can be of any assistance along the way. Brightest blessings and darkest dreams. - StacyMaRie
