I can hear the tone of his bass so clearly in my mind that I like to listen to the solo every so often just to refresh the memory. A haunting performance.

Gary is an exceptional musician. It has excellent technical quality. Anyone who hears this song makes a mistake with the doorbell. The impression you have is that Gary is playing a fretless bass. That, at least, was the sensation I had, when I saw the video I almost did not believe it. The grooves, splaps, harmonics, and tonal modes used in their songs catch our attention. There are many good musicians here in Brazil (Celso Pixinga, Nico Assunpção [already deceased], among many other notorious names in Brazilian music). But also, there is a lot, but, a lot of "crap" around here currently that succeeds, unfortunately. Gary to me is one of the most respected and respected names in the world of jazz fusion and the vast jazz universe, I consider him a living legend. Listening to this kind of music is worth it!

#Fail

Sorry, not diggin it. Great player, but playin the chicken with a terrible drum machine loop ? Ugly. The sound is nauseating too, and combined with that racket loop is not music. Jaco would be sad...

+ManelFogo I'm sorry you don't understand me, and that you deign to deem my comment absurd !!! Perhaps you don't like Jaco's music ? As a bass player, drum's are fundamental in a groove like this... Please I'm all ears for your explanation of 'absurd' ..?
@ManelRuivo

dude, this drums are not programmed. its a drummer playing and sounding like electro music. the snare are constantly improvising, with many ghost notes. so is the ride. it would take two weeks to programm that beat, and 5 minutes to record it with a good drummer. check other videos of this class. none of them are programmed backtracks. about the nauseating sound, I think you refering to the bass sound. thats the part that got my nerves more. gary is worldly know for his beautifull tone, and aknowledged for being one of the few that can play fretless beautifully without sounding like jaco because no one can play fretless without playing jaco! and I dont even want to talk about musicality and note choices. haha... so I think if you show some respect for him you would understand him more, and embarass yourself less.

+ManelFogo There's really no need to get your knickers in a twist. I stated clearly I think he's a great player.. But I still think the whole 'sound' is awful. If you like it good for you, but I think it does a disservice to Jaco personally.. just my two cents
