Quite interesting. There are a lot of things to consider here, as in how different strategies work for different students, and such. In the end, the responsibility falls on the students themselves regardless of how much they try to escape through the desperate search of answers through internet. Advice is meaningless without a desire to consider it, so my advice (ironically) is: Learn to enjoy what you do. Meaningless to tell why, so that's all.

@@BenjaminThuroczy I'm in Germany and in the Gymnasium (which is the best school way out of them all) and in 10th grade (out of 13) and I skipped 9th grade. I won't lie that I always study less than 1 hour. I like studying but my mental and physical healthhas been slipping and I could barely do any homework or study for exams. I still passed them all with A's and in some cases B's. I put in the hard work earlier so that now I profit of my knowledge I've gained. That's it.

@BenjaminThuroczy5 ай бұрын
Yes it definitely makes a huge difference. Even having a specific location of where you study and where you relax. For example studying on the bed can create a bad habit of being sleepy while studying. This is because now your study space is also your sleep space.

Even if you feel "dumb" and everyone around you "get's it quicker", just have to open your mind that your able to grow from it. When faced with something you don't understand. Don't instantly tell yourself your not smart enough. Instead ask how you learn better? What resources can you go to? What is required to attain a better understanding.

These have some great tips you gave, the way i currently understand learning might have a few pointers that could help: there are different levels of knowledge, lower-order which are simple fact recall, mid-order which are grouping those facts together and creating relations, and lastly higher-order where you consider different possible relations between those facts and then try to evaluate which relationship is most important. University tests you at all ranges, so try to incorporate techniques so you train yourself on all of these levels. When first learning the concept start with the big picture (higher order concepts) then when you get near exam time you can cram in those lower order facts. Anki is very good for lower order fact recall so you don't have to constantly be using anki. Feynman technique depends on its implementation but is typically multi ordered with an emphesis on mid-order. If you want to learn other techniques look into interleaving (which completes your active recall + spaced repetition into the holy trinitiy of SIR, spaced interleaved retrieval)
@BenjaminThuroczy6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the tips! I will definitely be looking into interleaving as a study technique. I never really thought about splitting them in order but it does pair nicely with bloom's taxonomy. If you don't mind me asking, what are you currently studying in school? Great tips and keep them coming.
