Protestant preachers will tell you that God loves you while priests with their homily reminds you to serve and love God and love your neighbor. Ask Jesus which is the best commandment.

All Christians are catholics they may not be Roman or Eastern or any other rites or denomination, but they are catholic in the true sense of the word. Only the Universal church are true believer and they are the chosen one saved by grace through faith and it is a gift from God. The so call protestant doesn't really exist it is only a movement trying to restore truth of biblical Christianity in the face of a church claims to be the only one and truth. Jesus is the only way truth and life. The strong catholic are strong enough to step out of a tyrannical system that basically says my way only and not Jesus and scripture only.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 Question: Did you become a disciple of Jesus by belief, prayer, repentance and baptism for the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 28: 18-20 Are you a baptized disciple? Otherwise, spirituality without the transformation of Christ is simply an excersize to feel better and be more moral. This is NOT Christ cruxified. The heart of Christ is that others come to know him and he is ALWAYS with us. We need to believe that! There is no such thing as a "brand of spirituality" as Christ is all, in all and in us if we have become true repented disciples. Please be careful of New Age teachings that appear Godly. Read your bible! Do not rely on these teachings but on Christ and his work. May Jesus grant you insight into all of this and you will want to pray throughout the day and you will see him in all of the little things because THE HOLY SPIRIT is now in you helping you live the life of a disciple. He also will reveal your character and motives allowing change. This is TRUE biblical change. All other spiritual practicies outside the teachings of Jesus are false teachings. To God be the Glory my friend

Methodists are "loose" when the Catholic church invented some of the most corrupt religious practices ever (e.g. pay the Roman Catholic church to have your deceased loved ones released from purgatory). Got it. This didnt feel like genuine scholarly analysis at all.

As a Reformed Protestant myself, who is very passionate about sound doctrine, who also works with pretty much all precious Catholic sisters in Christ every day at our local Pregnancy Resource Center, I whole-heartedly agree with what was said here. It is sad and shameful how much stone-throwing we do. We ought not have conversations about out differences, regardless of how significant they may be, unless we can have them in love toward one another. When a Protestant is talking to a Catholic person about theology, they need to remember that they are not talking to the Pope, nor are they talking to someone who necessarily knows anything at all about the Council of Trent. And when a Catholic is talking to a Protestant, they need to remember that they are not talking to Martin Luther, nor are they talking to someone who necessarily knows anything at all about Luther's 95 Theses. We are simply talking to the person in front of us, whom God has given us an opportunity to get to know and love, even while we are conversing about things we disagree with one another on. It's really not that difficult. We just need to guard our hearts and be sure that we approach matters with extreme humility amidst the confidence that we may have that we are correct, and the other person is incorrect. It's far better to win someone's heart than to win an argument, any day! Sola Deo Gloria!

The whole protestant reformation is rooted in a critic of catholicism on how they had too many rituals, traditions, sacraments, ornaments etc. So naturally, any catholic that feels overwhelmed by all this will backslide in the church that sells you "less is more".

Lol no you get are heretics. You get the pentecostal, charismatics. In fact conduct this experiment these "strong" protestants ask them who there favorite online preachers were. Did they say Joel Osteen, Joyce Myers, Kenneth Copeland, David Hernandez, and people like that? Of course they will. Your never going to see someone who spends there time in there Bible daily like me convert to your paganized version of Gods word. And you also won't hear them answer that question Paul Washer, Voddie Baucham, and R.C. Sproul.

I sought out videos like this one because I'm finding myself in a deist holding pattern. I was born and raised Catholic, I come from generations of Catholics, I was baptized, received Eucharist, and confirmed. Never considered what all of those things meant as I was going through them, just going through the motions. I was always a precocious child, I had an existential crisis at about 8 years old, possibly even younger. These questions have always plagued me but I've come to accept, in my rational brain, that God likely exists and created this all. I'm having a hard time making the leap to Christianity, and I'm glad that you addressed some of the things that have been weighing on me, but I'm still struggling to get there

I would have felt quite used and unappreciated by the Father if I was the older son. And did the Father also not have a horrible sense of entitlement himself that both his sons should serve him without any expectation of reward at some point? I really have a hard time seeing the Father as the injured party here, he should have been less stingy along the way with the older son. The younger son was clearly wrong but as far as I'm concerned the Father was wrong as well.

About A.D. 400 the great scholar Jerome, whose translation of the Latin Vulgate remains the basis of the official Roman Catholic Bible, strongly maintained that these books were apocryphal and were not to be included in the canon of Scripture. I don't think the 7 books should be considered Hersey, however I do think they may not be divinely inspired. I threw in the the note about Jerome to kind of add in the fact that it wasn't "non-codified truth". But a truly controversial topic even in the Early church. I believe why I favor the abstaining of the 7 books also involves many of the direct contradictions to the confirmed canon I have had Catholics claim, such as Mary being sinless. As such it is rational to also see the adding of the 7 as canon to be a reaction to the Reformation to make claims of heresy valid against them for prosecution. Now this also doesn't mean if you are catholic you aren't Christian, however I do wonder sometimes if some Catholics aren't.

Jerome initially didn’t want t to translate them as scripture. However he later quoted them as scripture. Unlike the 16th century Prottie sects,he submitted to the Church that Christ founded.

One thing I’ve found interesting and a testimony to the virtue of Catholic baptism of infants, is that so many of the conversion stories I’ve heard have been of lapsed Catholics or individuals like yourself who seek God in various other congregations, who were baptized Catholic but when they pursue truth they end up back home in Mother Church. I really believe it’s so often part of one’s journey, that they stray, but that indelible mark pulls them back to Catholicism. So powerful!

Maybe you should go to a Catholic Church that has a great choir, pipe organ, and a great priest who knows how to preach/teach. I go to Immaculata at the University of San Diego, and I get touched by the Holy Spirit with tears every single time. Not all Catholic Churches have the same quality, just like not all Protestant churches do. Ultimately, however, the Protestant churches are all based on schism, faction, division, and heresy (which means choice). Any church that is not under the leadership established by Jesus, is actually an illegitimate church. This is just plain simple reason and logic.

I think it's a lack of understanding and not knowing or not having the motivation to figure out the truth. You have to be open to the truth.... and I HATED confusion. I hated how confusing it was seeing thousands of denominations and the Catholic church, who is the true church? Well I dove into historical research (not just a quick google search) now I know, it's the Catholic church.

As a Protestant, I have thought to myself off and on since childhood (though, not precisely in these exact words...) "If I were to reconstruct what I believe only from the Bible and not from any presuppositions would I come to believe the same doctrines my church teaches? (For example, the doctrine that we are saved by faith alone.) I think, I have started becoming more Catholic in my beliefs, and honestly, it seems safer to take the Catholic Church's doctrine rather than have to pick and choose between Protestant traditions.

Has anyone else figured out that the Catholic 10 commandments are different from the protestant 10 commandments? Especially the 2nd commandment. The Catholic church has removed it. And split the 10th into 2 separate commandments... lmk what you think. For me, that is the key to determine what is false doctrine.

Rather than "strong" protestants it seems more to be protestants with a strong bent for antiquarianism. The catholic church is old hat and systematically so. It truly has core elements from both antiquity and the middle age and most of the errors accrued during those ages. Like vine turned to vinegar! To some this bitterness is sweet on the tongue.

I really respect that you've found peace in Christianity. Me, I believed the same on a hardcore level for several years. Eventually, reality and disillusionment set in. It just wasn't working anymore. However, I still believe in God. But I am not convinced that God is personal and speaks to us, at least not the way that you and I speak to each other. God is impersonal, though we can certainly experience God on a personal level. Just my view. Cool video.

The priesthood was done away with by Christ, but man loves power, and the Roman Catholic Church does lord it over them, just as Peter himself, their proclaimed first Pope, said not to do! Jesus will judge in the end of what sort their works be. Depart from me you worker of iniquity, will be some scary words to hear, because there will be no second chances. Search the scriptures as Bareans people! Let God be true and every man a liar! Let your sole authority be the infallible Word of God, and not historical writings of man by the quote fathers or the dogmatic rules of the Magisterium of the RCC and/or their misguided interpretation of scripture! It does not take a theology degree to understand. God is not hiding from us, but desires to have a relationship with us. Seek Him and He promises that you will find Him!

THIS IS THE TIME TO EXPLAIN IT.IF HE HAS NOT EXPLAIN IT BEFORE WHICH HE HASN'T,IT'S NOWHERE ELSE.HE'S DELIVERING HIS LAST MESSAGE.AND HIS LAST STATEMENT IS "BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS THAT ARE COMING".HE SAYS NOTHING...NOTHING AT ALL OF ANY TYPE OF "PAPAL SUCCESSION"AND HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE.
