The 58 is extremely useful and and convenient, but it's huuuge and no amount utility is going to excuse the fact that top boxes are ugly. Period. I have one an R1200GSA that it came with and it's a love/hate item. It puts a fair amount of weight being empty almost too far back. Be careful about overloading it as it already lightens the front end. Nice to have but I don't know if i would have gone for something that huge. Another note, when installing, use the Red Loctite on the fasteners. Yeah they'll be bicth to remove, but it'll be the same for the little bstrds that want to try to take it off.

Just asking your opinion or anyone else that has ever played this bass. I am thinking about buying this bass to be my second bass and a 4 string (now i just have a 5 string Squire 70s) i liked a lot of the sound by the price, but some reviews in the internet says that is hard to slap because the humbucker is too close from the neck. It makes sense. Whats your opinion ? Is it real or just some detail?
@MarkYoungMedia Жыл бұрын
Hey. I really like this bass. Yes, the neck pick-up is a bit close to the neck. For someone with larger fingers, it might be an issue. Ive adapted around it. There is a version of this bass with only a bridge pick-up. Overall, its a good sounding bass with a nice feel.

How has the black aluminium stood up against scratches etc? wondering if the silver aluminium box might show less wear and tear? thanks
@MarkYoungMedia Жыл бұрын
I do have a few scratches on the box unfortunately, but nothing really bad. Yes the silver would show less scratches, but the silver also will tarnish slightly with bad weather, road salt etc. Its a trade off really. I had silver aluminium on all 3 of my GS's and i eventually had to get the boxes polished to get the clean look back.

Hi Mark, thanks for the review. How is the top case when you are on the highway and any drags or wind buffeting? I am seriously thinking of getting the same one for my 1200gsa.
@robjones77252 жыл бұрын
Very impressive - well played. Some say this is not an ideal slap bass because the neck pickup is so close to the fretboard but I see that you were playing in the gap between the pickups so it can be done and I think it's a case of adapting to the layout of pickups on this bass, as you have done. It's a great bass for the price, and I love mine!

is there any problem with helmet on above 150kmph????
@MarkYoungMedia2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, its noisy. Its a light helmet, and you are definitely getting what you pay for. If you are sitting comfortably behind a tall screen, then it should be ok. If you are already getting hit with the wind, then you will find this helmet noisy and might need ear plugs. I struggle to hear my intercom.

@@MarkYoungMedia ok thanks man, one more thing I want to ask, is there any problem with the peak of the helmet during 100+ speed? dose it pull ur face backward bcz of the wind??
@MarkYoungMedia2 жыл бұрын
@@rm7244 honestly, no more than what you'd expect from a lid with a peak. I rode my girlfriends Honda CB a few weeks ago for the day, which is a naked bike, and i was surprised how little my head was pulled around. You do feel a little resistance because of the peak, but its not bad at all.

Thanks for posting! It was very useful to be able to see the real world size of the thing. I'm just waiting for the shipping company to deliver my Givi 58 litre case. (To fit Benelli TRK502) I think the bigger case is worth the extra money as it gives you the option to lock two helmets inside and you can rest easy when it's parked outside a place to eat, etc on a tour somewhere.

On really strong side gusts of wind, MAYBE you might feel it. And i mean maybe. Honestly, the only time you know its there is when you overload it with kit and its very heavy. But even then, you'll just get used to it.

G’day mate! Can the peak be easily removed? Thanks.
@MarkYoungMedia2 жыл бұрын
Hey. There's three screws holding on the peak. One cross-screw on each side and one thumb-screw on top. It will come off easily enough. If you want to ride without the peak, im not sure if the side screws will go in deep enough to retain the visor if you take the peak off, as they use the same screws to stay attached. I can check it out at the weekend and get back to you if you need that info 👍

Ok, there are 4 screws holding the peak on. 2 thumbscrews up top and 2 cross screws on the sides which you'll need a screwdriver or coin etc. The visor stays on nice and snug if you take the peak off. Good job Mark. I’m thinking of the Givi 52L for my trusty 1200GS but that 58L is awesome. Just not sure if it would impede tight lane splitting?
@MarkYoungMedia2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave. Thanks for the Sub! Yes the 58L is pretty awesome. The handlebars on your GS are wider than the Givi box. I filter all the time and I have no issues. Yes, the box is higher up than the handlebars but so are your shoulders, elbows etc. I think you wont have a problem 👍👍

Thumbs Up from Michigan USA! Great ride and scenery....Hows your Givi 58L box holding up? I'm researching large (2 helmet) top boxes and found your channel. Not too many options for large top boxes, with Givi offering several types. I've seen owners of the 58L box say that after prolonged use they can become loose and even damage the mounting points. This may be due to real crappy roads and abusive riding though...Anyway, thanks for your efforts and safe riding to you and your cool girlfriend.
@MarkYoungMedia2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks 😊. The givi is going well. I must admit that i do overload it a bit and there's a small bit of shake on it, but thats to be expected with the weight i have in it. All the mountings are still perfect as with everything else, and i do hit some bumpy roads here in Ireland. I still recommend it! Many thanks for the positive feedback. Feel free to share the vid too 😉😁😁
