Just curious is the seating position of the CBR650r a lot more leaned forward compared to the cb650r? Or is the only difference between the two bikes a flat bar versus clip-ons??

You can definitely tell the difference but it's not a super huge difference in my opinion. And I'm actually not sure, couldn't find anything online either... My CBR650R is the absolute best looking/sounding 650 out here with the straight pipe akra and other stuff, but... you get used to the power you know. I just don't want to spend thousands of euros making this 650 marginally quicker.

S1000RR's are super sweet obviously, they usually come with a few issues though. You do get used to the power on the cbr650r but it's still hella fun and "quick" in twisties, I'd wait for an R9 like the first comment said, or maybe stick to the Honda brand and get a cbr1000. It's not worth upgrading your bike that much, you would dump way too much money, it's almost always better to upgrade to a bigger/faster bike.

Just watched your video about you crashing the CBR a few months ago and was curious about what you changed regarding your riding style and honestly I am a litte bit of disappointed. No hate at all, I do like your bike, you seem like a nice guy, but you are riding way above your limits. The swerves you make in the tunnel are sometimes at a time when you can't judge whether there is another car behind you (1:16 1:24). You leave the tunnel at around 114 km/h without having anywhere near enough visibility (1:35), then later at 169 (02:37). Almost died at 13:51 at 200km/h and would have dragged innocent people into the shit. Honestly, I ride an RN65/r1 and know it is tempting to be a little bit faster, but apart from your recklessness it looks like you're way too inexperienced and it's only a matter of time. If it only affected you, that's one thing (e.g. on the track), but you're using public roads and pulling others in.

Any bike can be a squid bike, depends who's riding it😂 I mean I love going fast but it's not the only thing I do with it, I go on trips with it, take it to work and these are all very calm rides. I don't plan on upgrading soon, I love the bike, love the handling and there's plenty I need to learn before I can upgrade✌️ By the way, aren't responsive handling, high revving inline 4 with 93hp, sporty look and sportier seating one of it's perks?
@KrypteiaXi
@KrypteiaXi 18 күн бұрын
@@MotoSquidYT these are its perks sure, but its nowhere near aggressive in riding position and in raw performance as a pureblooded squid bike, such as the 600RR. To a conventional and reasonable rider the 650R is enough a bike to last for decades, but you are not conventional nor reasonable, so I was wondering why did you choose the 650R which is a more serious bike.
@MotoSquidYT
@MotoSquidYT 18 күн бұрын
@@KrypteiaXi I agree it's not as aggressive as a 600RR or some other bikes, and the 650R can be easily "tamed" by a reasonable rider. @MotoSquidYT
@MotoSquidYT 18 күн бұрын
Depends how fast I'm going, I usually rev to around 9-10k but the wheel pops up really quick. If you're starting off, go around 40-50km/h and rev it to around 7-8k... it should be a super light wheelie and then you can take it from there. @@MotoSquidYT yeap yeap. No regrets! In fact am contemplating to go for the new Power 6 or even Power GP2 at almost similar price (promo for the Michelin). Sourced around for user experience and was told Michelin Power 5 (since Power 6 just too new in the market) kinda meh compared to Pirelli Rosso series. Meanwhile Power Gp2, I doubt I can utilise the full performance especially the narrower working temperature since my riding speed was relatively moderate and on the road only (as commented by some of the riders outside)
@MotoSquidYT
@MotoSquidYT 21 күн бұрын
@@minc3 that might be a good choice too, looking at the tread, I'd say the Power 6 tires could be somewhat close to the Rosso 4's and the Power GP2 would be probably be even more "track" focused than Rosso iv Corsa. I don't think you would be able to use the full potential of the GP2 tire on normal streets, you'll also sacrifice some grip in the rain since these tires are more meant for dry trackday rides. So, I'd say the best thing is to have two sets of tires, one sporty-ish set for the street (rosso 4's, power 5 or 6, road 6, s22 etc.) - good all around grip in most conditions. And then have a designated set just for the track, something like the Power GP2 would be great for some extra confidence. You can still take a sportier tire like the normal Rosso 4's for a track day, you'll run them down quick but they'll be just fine. You don't need much better tires unless you're really really quick✌️

Theres sports bikes with high clippons, even the CBR650R has higher clipons and a good seating position. The pain mostly comes from your body using these muscles for the first time and you overly gripping the handlebars/clutch/break out of fear. As you get exp you will slowly find the comfiest position for yourself and you will stop doing the deathgrip on the bars (best explanation Ive seen is, pretend you have little baby ducks in your hands, squeeze too hard and theyre dead - youve got to really really baby them haha and turn in with the head and the whole body more than the bars.). My advice is, buy whatever you like the best (just not some 1000cc 200hp death machine off the go) and give it 6 months to a year of ridin. If you feel like that aint the bike for you then, you didnt make a mistake, sell it and buy whatever you want then. Hope that helps and welcome to your new addiction haha

I agree, the new tft on the 2024 looks cheap compared to the current dash. It’s a bit of a shame as usually I’m all for fancy new tech & screens

Exactly! I'm also all for new tech and fancy things, but they should've taken a bit more time with the new TFT. Hopefully they'll hear people out and maybe update it next year
