What a final! 10 years and I'm still processing that Aliya and Jinnan hit 3 pieces then melt on floor, losing the bronze to Kyla Ross. Personally, Kyla didn't have that much special or remarkable gymnastics, but she did her job, cleanly and steadily through the competition and deserved the medal. Also, we can see how Simone improved and polished her gymnastics since 2013. For me, _here_ she revealed to be more than just another US powerful gymnast, here she truly affirmed her name and started her road to greatness. And I just noticed, funny that every time Vanessa appeared they're sure to point out she was 23 and how it was amazing that she's still competing, full of experience and maturity, being in elite since 2006 (8 years prior). 10 years later, that has basically become the standard in the sport (for example, at 2024 Paris, average age was 22), more than half the gymnasts had around 8 years or more of experience.

Elfi proved at this meet that she was nothing more than a mouthpiece with legs… even Tim and Al seemed a little annoyed at times with her comments.
