I'm sorry, Shawn Johnson is unfortunately NOT a good commentator in my opinion. Everything is forced. A great gymnast, but not a good commentator. When will these networks realize that you can't put gymnasts like Nastia and Shawn in these positions just because they were popular gymnasts unless they have the level of sophistication and talent to comment. Just listing their skills isn't enough. There are so,e gymnasts that have transitioned well. Most notably Kathy Johnson, Bart Connor, and Amanda Borden. They know how to deliver and provide background information on the gymnasts, their specific thoughts and sophisticated comments when something goes wrong. Shawn is still showing her immaturity and lack of commentating experience. She shouldn't be a commentator at this level.

+pappysprite Gotta get experience somewhere. The Big Ten network is not a major network, and Shawn's knowledge of gymnastics is enough for this level of competition. Most of the people watching this are casual fans of NCAA gymnastics and not necessarily die hard fans. That said, there are far worse commentators than Shawn: Courtney Kupets and Kelly Garrison-Whatever her new husband's name is now are awful.
