Thank you, Requiem, yet another great video of yours. One suggestion for the future: maybe don’t mention who shared the video with you? Cause usually a player is more likely to share a video if they have won the game 😅, so the moment you mentioned that Ubivator shared this video with you, I knew he is gonna win the game eventually.

That's a good point. I have had people send me games they lost in. But you are right most people will send games they win on

Funny how recent RTS like Stormgate, ZeroSpace, BattleAces have nothing on older RTS like Total Annihilation, C&C and StarCraft I, II. These older games were created at the peak of RTS, so much went into them, time and money + community support, they got patched countless times in order to create perfect RTS. No way a new game with less time, budget and community support can compete, they are so far behind and kind of useless.

Great stuff! Surely a case here for 1 or 2 well placed LLT to defend the core base as a rule? Would of saved a lot of bother. I didn't realise about turret turn times, attacking from 2 sides is a neat trick

Chronic lack of units from Ubivator in the midgame there, gave Sash a chance to get back into it. I wonder why he was unable to get much of anything out. Very interesting to see the LRPC. I wonder if it was ultimately worth it - just slamming in with an extra 8 bulls may have been better, though once it forced sash into responding with keepers they had definitely paid off, and obviously even more so with the factory kill.

Great game! Lots of back and forth. Your insight into map strategy helps set the scene. If possible could you provide commentary on potential winning strategies as the game progresses? Unit counters or locations to push in to.

@Requiem_tv19 күн бұрын
it used to be that you would get slightly less metal but thats not the case anymore. Now its just to squeeze more room in. Like if you slightly offset the mex. you might be able to get 2 mexs without your com walking. It can save mere seconds. But in High Teir games that can make a difference

From the spectator perspective could see it coming. BCTV had a significant army advantage most of the game - even though he was constantly raided he preserved his forces. Contra spent probably too much on raiding - there were many points where his base was basically undefended and he only survived by dint of BCTV not being aggressive enough to exploit it. The raids BC busy up until he decided he wasn't winning unless he swept the base so his natural caution was overcome.

Thanks fot the cast. I really like this map, because there's nothing in the middle. It's like one big circle of resources and nothing else. It's another play than just take every mex on the way to your frontline. :)

Sash really needed to split a few units off to flank during the fights so he could kill the backline res bots.

Thanks for the cast! I'm wondering if Sash had gone seaplane gunships if they would have had a bigger impact.
@mtking429 күн бұрын
Fyi, banshees are insanely good and excellent raiders in 1v1s, this was just a bad example to showcase that and he apm stalled, they fill a different role than shuris, they excel at killing expansions/Bases and sniping coms
@TheDeathlyG28 күн бұрын
+1 to this. About 9-10 gunships can kill a com even with an AA turret helping it.

Nope afraid not. You can only speed up replays as far as I'm aware
Hey guys I have a lot of experience in competitive gaming and about 50 h in BAR. I think that there is a lot of unused potential in the way BAR is currently played. I’d say if the game continues to grow over the next 5 years, these matches will almost seem like a joke to us then. To be more specific: There should be more purposeful ways to invest your resources. I feel like over investments happen very frequently. Over saturating an area with units means, that they become very vulnerable to aoe-damage. I often see big “monoculture” armies fighting in random locations which then result in reclaim fields that then have to be fought for again, but not really accomplishing anything. Apart from that, I also ask myself why the currently best players in BAR don’t seem to place a lot of value on sustainability. I mean why would you invest, if the chances of losing it before it pays off are very high? I don’t claim to be a good BAR player but those are thoughts that I’m having.
@laurikaldamae6841Ай бұрын
I think this might be a good case of spectator omniscience. It is easy to see this and think about it while looking at replay, but player APM is limited and Contra has superb micro as it is. You can't just do everything perfectly, can't think and click fast enough.
@jordanb72214 күн бұрын
As Laurl says, Its very easy as a spectator to underestimate the pressure of actually playing a game and making the correct decisions. Its very easy from the spectator perspective to notice these situations and wonder why someone doesn't just send half a dozen tanks down the middle and wiping out massive eco, but it's difficult to spot these weaknesses (both lack of info and because of apm pressure). I find BAR has this weird dynamic where you'd expect it to be quite snowbally from making +EV decisions, but AOE damage, the D-gun and leaving reclaim in defender-controlled territory can easily turn a decisive push into an inadvertant donation to your enemy if you don't play carefully - which is probably why pro players can be indecisive about finishing a game that looks over. Throwing a huge army into an enemy base and getting it Dgunned, or worn down and leaving a huge amount of metal to them can be worse than useless. If you totally wipe the base this isn't a huge problem, but wiping half of it without a backup force to finish the job soon can put you in a bad spot.
