Hi, what type of hitch are using in this video. The original foldable hitch is Class II for 3500 lb and the weight for this trailer I think is above it. Any idea_ thanks from Chile

Thank you for this very informative video. This is one of the only videos I have found that covers towing with the EV9. I'm in the US and currently have an EV6. We're considering the EV9 as a tow car for a travel trailer for weekend getaways. This hit all the right notes, putting it high on my list of next vehicles.

Thanks for an informative video, currently in Australia the EV9 is very new ! There is a intrepid adventure family who are travelling Australia towing a 2 tonne caravan with an EV9, with great success, ( see Electreking) we are about to start a similar adventure, Australia has more charging challenges than the UK. However, people seem to forget every power point is a potential charging point.

I like the style of this camper, but it is pricey, you can get a Lion Cub camper for 3k less and that includes, water storage, cooker and sink, plus a fridge. I'd like to see the Lion reviewed and compared by the reviewer?

All the comments are negative surprise surprise! EVs solo are a complete joke, towing they are even more useless. EVs are not even good for the environment and can catch fire after collisions. Please test real world vehicles in future.

Still has the basic problem that all EVs have regards towing. Range is extremely limiting and what to do with your caravan when requiring a recharge....and this car at £70K+ unrealistic for most people. Why even bother to review?

We stayed here before it was taken over by club, it's a lovely site. Thornton's Holt Camping Park, Radcliffe Rd, Stragglethorpe, Nottingham NG12 2JZ, very peaceful , toilets fantastic, hopefully it's got even better as the children area and shop have been added since we was there before covid. Hope it's priced as good as it was

Incredible expensive for a tow car, as you'll have to unhook the caravan to charge which is a pain, you would want to be able to go at least 3 hours before requiring a charge, at motorway speeds that requires a range of 180 miles.

They are resetting pushing caravans and motorhome users to the back as they concentrate on becoming just another mass holiday business installing lodges, pods, yurts, tents as concerned caravanning will be badly affected by EV’s costs and lack of towing ability for the majority of caravans that 1300-2000kg mass!

Such nonsense, my Toyota is supposedly (Parkers) kerb weight 1460kg (Toyota do not list a kerb weight), which means under the NCC rule of thumb I can't tow anything bigger than 1241kg MTPLM. Yet Toyota states the braked towing capacity is 1800kg, with a Drawbar limit of 75kg. The VIN Plate states 2100kg MAM with a 3900kg GTW. It has absolutely no problem towing my twin axle caravan with a 1700kg MTPLM, especially with 180bhp, so this 'authoritative' video makes no sense at all.

It’s worth noting that the alko chassis on these has solid outriggers and a GRP underside to keep the wet off. They are built to last and not just bolted down on a massive piece of plywood and foam

Roads to and from the site, rough as rats, look out for speeding log carrying vehicles coming down from the mountains. The recommended road out is hardly fit for a mini car let alone a motorhome.

Might be okay towing with a newer family car, but our old Pugeot 307 really struggled up steep hills. We switched to a 2L turbo deisel Skoda Yeti which pulls it a treat. We have an older canvas model which has provided many great holidays, we love our Pathfinder!!

We have the Vauxhall version of this van as a campervan and have just completed a two week holidsy in Normandy and the range was never an issue. Travelled over 1000 miles at a quarter the cost of diesel.
@Rumouruk
@Rumouruk 2 ай бұрын
@@lynnebarnes7680 So, from Dieppe, it is 177 miles to Arromanches. One full charge if you are lucky. And then if you are just pottering about, you may well get a few days on a charge. But that is not what campers are used for! (If yours is used like that, you are missing out!) Plus, the price tag for a conversion is minimum of £25K on top of the van at £70k. Then you need to buy H&C running water at £1.5k plus all of the other extras. It is totally impractical in the winter, it has to be a camps site only and we have started to see big charges on sites for charging EV's so that will only spread. Great for cars maybe, especially if you want a weekday runabout, but campervan? You have two weeks to have a holiday, you want to go to Narbonne Plage on the Med. I can do it is two days and one fill that takes 10 minutes. I can do it quicker if I up the pace. How long would it take you...
