The Brightness actuator is just a little piece of plastic that has to fit over the switch on the inverter board. Someone may have opened it in the past and forgot to line them up. You can also recap the inverter with 2 tiny caps. It can be a quick fix.

I played around a bit and it seems it is a software issue. I can change the brightness in first few moments after the machine starts booting and it stops working during the boot sequence. 🤷♂

Just like mine. I used Pascal, assembly, fortran, c, and forth to program it.

Cool. May I ask, what materials did you use back then to learn to program it?

@@davidlopanful Thank you a lot. If you find anything I could use as learning material I would be pleased. I have found some books, but I think it is somehow breach of the living memory of Macintosh programming. If I compare the written materials to what is being said in our lectures, there are so many tips and tricks which are not written in the official textbooks. And another thing is, I don’t even know with what book should I start and which should follow. Mostly they are focused on one topic, such as Game development, but I miss some sort of structured way how to proceed. Right now I am trying C because I have some previous experience and I think it is an easy entry point in getting familiar with the Toolbox, the programming IDEs of 90s and etc.

I have an old G3 I've been wanting to program on for some time now, and there aren't a ton of video resources out there for this! Thanks for making this video and I hope you make more. Great job with your English by the way.

Hi. Thank you. Sure I will. I got some feedback from my friends, that the code in the video should have larger font, that I should parse the video into smaller chapters and also that the application is boring. :D Thus I decided to create a snake game. It shows the same principles, but the result is more satisfying. I have just tested it on a real hardware and I hope I will be able to record the video on Monday. Matouš
