It’s a really sad story my friends family were in a plane for I evening plane ride when the engine failed and crashed the dog was unfortunately still on the plane and the dad tried to rescue the dog but ended up losing his life as well. It was absolutely tragic and that is the plane that I could tell from the video.

I am in Haliburton on the 5 lake chain and have not caught a X#$%I thing. Now you are showing this steel fishing line set up and it just complicated everything even more...I have 4 conventional fishing rods with a number of different tackle (not targeting bass right now as it is out of season) but was hoping to get One Walleye ok I'll take a frigging perch!

Hello Galen, My name is Greg Popovice. My wife and I own and operate Tackle Factory in Fillmore New York, where the original Gee's G-40 galvanized minnow trap is still manufactured. I appreciate the time and effort that you have put into the video. We still manufacture the Gee's G-40 products as the have been for decades. I have traps that are 60-70 years old and still fit our new pieces today. If you ever get this way stop in and check us out. By the way... The black vinyl traps rust out way before the Gee's G-40 under normal freshwater conditions. I'd like to see if anyone can show me a black vinyl or silver imported trap that is still in useable shape after 5 years. If you or your viewers have any questions, I would be happy to answer them. Nice video! I was wondering if the foot broke off on the gold hook setter. It looked like half of it was laying there by the hole when you were fighting that fish. I was wondering if it broke off when you lifted the device up off of the hole? Or maybe it had broken before and the repair came apart? I am the guy who came up with the JawJacker and I was checking out some JawJacker videos people had done and I came across your video. It's the first time I have seen that particular gold device in action. I have seen it advertised before but never seen it used. I was going to personal message you about it like you tube use to allow you to do but I can see how to do that now so I had to message you under the comments section. Hopefully you see my comment and can answer me back.

Wow your my idol The jaw jacker is the best invention for ice fishing. I had actually stepped on the piece earlier and broke it off. It was just sitting in there to keep it up right and not sitting in the water. The gold one works great except it’s definitely cheaper quality than the actual jaw jacker brand. We use to miss so many trout before using these, they would here us running on the ice and spit the bait. Not anymore there either hooked good or not Typically the smaller fish we miss. Not many big ones get past the hook set tho. Thanks a lot for reaching out Look me up Galen Bowman on Facebook Take care

So what are you saying? Is it the color that makes the difference or the design? All you mentioned was the name of the silver trap and kept comparing as the silver and black traps.
@GalensFishing

The silver colour attracts more minnow’s The black is poorly designed with two big of holes and doesn’t attract them to it

I think the size and shape of the holes in the black trap is the difference. I think a lot of the minnows can make their way through the mesh.
@GalensFishing
@GalensFishing 6 ай бұрын
Definitely there poorly designed. The openings on each end are to large as well.
@banjohappy
@banjohappy 6 ай бұрын
The original silver traps have been manufactured at Cuba Specialty, Fillmore, NY since the beginning. The black ones are probably a wannabe knockoff and it looks like the minnows could swim right through the holes. Maybe the black trap would be suitable for larger minnows, but for these little fatheads, no. Maybe this is not a fair comparison of the two traps because of this feature. Not the color, but the size of the mesh is the reason here?
