This drug killed my elder dog. Pot butter had been the best meds I found.

Hi, I’m glad I found this video. I have a severe case where both knee caps are hanging half out of their sockets facing towards the outside of the knee. I’ve dislocated them at least 8 times between the both of them and now feel surgery is the only option for comfort and also to fix the look of deformity. Are these surgery successful and how long for each recovery, I would love to hear back.

Excellent, thanks very much. That is probably the most well researched and presented KZbin video I have seen. My parents had a 2 year old guide dog that could not complete its training due to a joint issue, its training and excercise regime had been perfect.

So good! Great to have robust, science based advice to work off next time we’re lucky enough to welcome a new puppy into our family. I now realise that what we were told in the past were just half truths at best, and dangerous myths at worst! 😳

A 1975 study funded by the NIH found that crate-confined German shepherd dog puppies were less likely than unrestricted puppies to develop hip dysplasia. The author’s actual conclusion - that a wide-based stance limits dysplasia - might have evolved into the fallacy that exercise restriction prevents hip dysplasia - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1224531/

My girl had this surgery in Dec 5 23, shes back to running and playing like normal. Ocassional favor of the leg as it seems to get stiff after a long sleep. Im sure like humans feeling a surgery spot after inclement weather, she does too. Very accurate vide to our experience. The restriction was diffuclt, but very necessary. Short frequent walks, linger walks, adding hills, not letting her run, not letting her jump. Crated for the frist week(ish). She eventually learned to escape her cone, had to fasten it to her colar. Slept next to her crate, someone was with her always the first couple weeks. eventually restricting her to one room while at work, sleeping on the futon with me. It was very low so she didnt have to jump up and down. Shes been back to regulsr activity for a couple months, and back to daycare this month. Thankful to the skilled surgeon that helped her and fixed her torn CCL. Shes an active girl that loves hikes, long walks, trail work days, canoe trips, and just chasing a ball or the occasional rabbit.
