Guys! This Takom has an error in positijning the scopes on the commander's cupola! Be careful! Everyone has a mistake in their buildings. Author, you also have a mistake but it's too late to correct it
@dreamzzscalemodelling29 күн бұрын
I sadly learned about the mistake just a few days after i put everything together. For any future Tigers I hopefully remember
@TheSaturnVАй бұрын
As this builder states, one of the periscopes in the commander's cupola should point straight ahead. It's a very simple fix to clip off the locater tab and install properly. I only repeat this because it's only an issue with the Early and Mid, the Late does not have this problem. One other mention, is that the radiators and cooling fans should be attached to the underside of the upper deck instead of going into the lower hull. It's very difficult to get them in at the right angle so the upper deck sits down all the way. If you attach them to the upper deck instead, the alignment sorts itself out better.
@dreamzzscalemodelling29 күн бұрын
I agree. The step with the radiators was a really weird choice from takom. I heard other people had similar problems with that step.

@BrianSanders-tn7piАй бұрын
Hi. I think that you need to take a closer look at the wheels. The spokes on the wheels should face outwards. The kit is not a bad model but you need to look at the instructions more closely.

Thanks for the recommendation. From what i found online that set is a bit older and not really sold anymore. But I do have the new Takom Hetzer's too when I want to build another one in the future. Hope they are fun to built aswell.
@jermasusАй бұрын
A shame they decided to do the most painful way to build tracks. Their previous Tiger P 003 kit had these beautifully designed single pour gate tracks that required even less clean up than metal tracks.

I agree. This is the part I'm least looking forward to when I start building the kit. I hope that all the parts will at least fit together well afterwards.

At 20:25 you tell us to keep the two small notches at the sides. Why is that? On the real tank, that is a locking ring, so it can be tightened up to any angle you like. Does the kit require the notches to be in a specific place?
@dreamzzscalemodelling2 ай бұрын
You seem to know more about Tigers then me. Every model kit i saw had the two notches at the side so i just assumed thats how the barrel had to be oriented. But i guess it can be in any rotarion then, so thank you for the heads up :)
@inktmeer54282 ай бұрын
The armoured covers on the exhaust are in the video upside down. When you put the shroud over them the will not fit. The lifting pegs should be lower. When you turn them around it will be ok. Intresting and great video.
@dreamzzscalemodelling2 ай бұрын
Good eyes! I already noticed the error during construction and flipped them, but forgot to show it. But thanks regardless for the info and feedback.
@ArkansasBassMan2 ай бұрын
This is incorrect. The lifting pegs are actually on the higher side. Even Tiger 131 has them up higher. The way DSM has them on in his video is correct. Maybe there is an issue with the kit's fitment? But every picture I've seen of a Tiger 1 or 2 that has the pegs has them on the top half not lower.

The AK pencils are great for exhaust. I spend way too much time on exhaust lol. Last set I did I spend 3-4hrs alone on that. At least that one could be seen. First exhaust I did was about 2hrs work and had a cover that hide it entirely.

Carefully building and painting parts and then covering them happens so often. At least we ourself know how much time we spend on certain parts even if others wont ever see them

I have a hard time with figures. I haven’t used any really in any of my builds but I paint them for practice. Sprues and Brews has a good figure tutorial if you haven’t seen it, similar to your method. That’s what I try to do anyway. Watch a bunch of different ways to do something and try to figure out a mixture that works for me. I like the airbrush idea for speckling, I’ll have to give that a try.

I just took a closer look at the instructions for you. You have the option to add all three included barrels. The metal one which is 10,5cm and two plastic ones. Both plastic ones are smaller so these should be the 88mm guns. A smaller gun-mantle for both of them is also included according to the instructions. I hope i could help you :)
