King Tiger - Part 1 Building - Meng 1/35 Tank Model Build

I currently have a 1:16 RC King Tiger from Heng Long. I have bought all the extras like photo etched parts, 3D printed parts, a brass muzzle brake and a new Bosch headlight (this has already been installed) as this part was not original. For surface treatment(s) I use Vallejo plastic putty, 20ml per tube, to give a nice rough surface treatment or to model the weld seams. You can dilute it with water and that's a plus point - it can be applied either diluted or 1:1 from the tube with a fine or coarse brush.

Great build, nice kit. You mentioned the Jagdpanther, warning the Meng Panther / Jagdpanther tracks require you to glue the guide horns (2 each link) onto each track. I have built 2 Meng Panthers. Set aside some time.

Thank you! I am currently working on the new Takom Tiger I, which also has separate guide horns. At least they are designed in a way that you can attach multiple at once. But it still took a lot of time and patience

Sir, where did you get the periscope glass and track hooks? Those track hooks look like accessories to me because of those pegs behind them. Perhaps the Meng kit made them that way? I wish that was standard. Track hooks often like to lay over unless you glue the **** out of them.

I did not use any after market accessories. All parts were included in the original box itself. The Meng kit has some really nice details out of the box included

Hello! I recently bought the tank but i didnt made a model before, i see your using glue and cement, but is the cement used in buildings or a special tipe of glue? And when i need to use it? And plus, i dont have the precise tools to the model, is necesary or smth?

Hello. It is a special glue called plastic cement. Mine is from the manufacturer Tamiya. This plastic glue can be used whenever you are glueing plastic parts. Once you add photo-etched metal parts you need regular super glue. Precise tools are helpful but not required. A sharp knife and plastic cement should be the minimum you need. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

Why that kit is yellow plastic if the Meng is red plastic?

I am also wondering that. I have this kit two times and both have yellow sprues. All pictures show red sprues. Maybe a newer batch but i dont know

Wow. The detail here would be painful for me. Especially the little periscopes in the cupola.

I agree some parts are really tricky to get right. I suggest a good pair of fine tweezers for any of the smallest parts
