Fantastic, just fantastic. I remember watching DKC as a 6 year old, a lot back then. I even rented "Legend of The Crystal Coconut" many times, at my local rental store in Madoc, before my family moved to Alberta in late 2006. To hear these performaces again, one last time, sheds a tear in my eyes. Thank you for this.

that's just a random Kritter (as they're called in DKC) But it implies that K Rool definately burned some bridges regarding his krewe. I wager this one in particular got rather sick of him by the time he vanished.

That’s Klubba- the guardian to the Lost World in DKC2. After Krocodile Isle went Vesuvius at the end of the game, Klubba relocated and opened a new business aboard the Gangplank Galleon. ‘Klubba’s Kantina’: A place where Kremlings and other sea-faring bilgerats can make port to refuel and grab a drink or two(or three). Keen eyes will notice that during the opening shot, you kan see Klubba’s blind twin brother, Kudgel(boss of Krem Quay) acting as a bouncer outside of the ship’s kabin.

I love how despite casually physically abusing and sometimes killing his crew, K. Rool can't bring himself to just fully abandon them. It kinda makes it look like he at least somewhat cares, even if he is VERY Cruel to them.

This is honestly a better villain song and sequence than anything Disney has made in years! It definitely has the the vibe of Be Prepared, but the combination of the snappy lyrics, jaw-dropping animation, and brilliant vocal performance sets it apart brilliantly!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but what I got from this is that K rool was living under the ship the entire time and imagined himself “tipping the scales” and taking over DK island, but then burnt the ship so the crew found him and then the scene at the end happens where he joins smash?

Klarification: Everything up to the point where the song begins is actually occurring in real time, below where the Gangplank Galleon is anchored. The Galleon is parked directly atop the remnants of Krocodile Isle that slipped into the ocean below during the events of the 102% ending of DKC2. Folllowing his defeat and embarrassment by the Kongs in DK64, Rool has taken up residency within these sunken catacombs, which are a mishmash of different areas from the game- as they’ve kollapsed in on themselves(Haunted Hall/Krocodile Kore) due to the Kremling Source explosion and subsequent sinking of the island. By the end of the musical sequence, Rool snaps back to reality and it dawns on him just how far he’s fallen. Most of the Kremlings topside heard him making a racket below the ship and went down to investigate. I hope this answers some questions! 🙂

Bonus: Also, the remainder of K. Rool’s Keep that was blasted into the stratosphere due to the explosion during the 102% ending of DKC2, made splashdown and was later repurposed and refortified by the Kremlings, into the mobile Blast-O-Matic Island in DK64.
