Okay regarding Yoseop and his age with the older members, that sounds like a similar thing we have here in the UK -- we start school in September, but those born in August often get put in the younger year even if they're the same year as people in the year above. I knew a girl who, if I remember right, was born either early August or VERY early September -- earlier than the school year -- and who should have been in an older year, but ended up in mine despite being a year older than me, I think. I can't remember, but it's a similar thing (slightly different, but similar idea). I see the double eyelid difference. I will do my best to remember this, thank you! As I (think I) said in the reaction, I have a horrible difficulty with faces. Always have. Yeoseop looks quite the same as he did then -- but has aged, of course -- so it isn't hard for me to recognise him as much. Gikwang, I think looks similar to how he looks now, but it took me a moment to really confirm it was him. So thank you haha! I was scared people would misinterpret me getting them wrong as me not caring, when I do care -- it's just my difficulty with faces. I kind of love that though, "dancing time" cause it gives that member a way of being centre in the group, just the same as being main rapper, or main vocal. While I wouldn't necessarily want it in every song in 4th and 5th gen, I think it would be a wonderful tradition to still include! Even if it was just during live stages, maybe, if artists didn't want to commit to it in a studio track! Ah, regarding Hyunseung, I see how that could be problematic. I saw a reply to another comment on my video (I haven't replied yet, but will be after replying to your comment), who said that they didn't think that Beast was what they really wanted to do -- so I can see their heart not being in it. Obviously, it doesn't excuse his behaviour. But I do think it's important for context, because it explains why, ultimately, he decided to leave. I'd rather a member in that situation, leaves, rather than stays and ruins (or continues to ruin, if that seems to be the case) the reputation of the group because they're not trying hard enough, or don't care enough. Yes Junhyung's situation is not a very good one. While he may not have directly been a part of it, as others were, he still chose to watch the video, so that doesn't make him much better in my opinion. He could have sent it to authorities, never watched it. But he chose to do so. I think, for the same reason as I stated with Hyunseung -- regarding the group's reputation -- him leaving in this situation was the best and only thing he could have done. It can be traditional thing in k-pop songs. I think these days, agency pick the member that can be group's representative image. And they give that member a chance to become more famous has become too much. I mean, there's a lot less opportunity for other members to stand out compared to before. So... dancing time or whatever, It can be a good choice as anyone can be given a chance, whether it's a main dancer or a member who matches the song. But I don't know when dancing time will be re-appear in k-pop song. Because that has gone out of fashion. I was, and still am, a fan of Beast and Highlight when Hyunseung left, and Junhyung left. I never think they did the right thing, and I try to maintain this opinion even if these ideas are too harsh for them. Because it's such a big deal when it comes to maintaining a group. I'm so grateful that Highlight still says they'll keep the group until the day it's within their power. Because there are a lot of groups that have these problems or break up at the end of their contract and never get mentioned again. I understand that even if you don't want to react to songs from Beast's days. Already, they are being mosaic-ridden in every video clip even among fans. Because they hurt so much (especially in Junhyung's case, it was a time when the members had to go to the military). It is a very important time for the group. This is because the hiatus through the military can be a great harm to the group. Due to the military, individual activities often increase and the group collapses. So they had their last concert before they go to the military, and they promised their fans that they would come back to the group. However, Junhyung's controversy is bound to be a great source of anxiety for fans who have to wait for a two-year period (from the summer of 2018 when Dujun joined the military to December 2020 when Dongwoon was discharged from the military.) So if you don't want to react to songs from the Beast's days with former members, I recommend that you watch the performances that the four Highlight members did with songs from that time. This year's concert performed songs that had not been able to do, especially in finding the rights to the name Beast. Thank you to them for completely replacing their parts so I can't remember them. Or, I recommend reacting to their solo songs. The four members of Highlight have all released solo albums, and all have very good songs. Oh no, when I say about the difficulty with faces, it's not just the members here. I have it generally! Not because I'm a Westerner haha! I just struggle with faces -- and so I need to see their face a lot to recreate their face in my head to then associate with them! I see what you mean! I would like Dancing Time to come back though! I'm glad that Highlight have said they'll keep the group together as long as they can! I have been given some recommendations, and I will be doing them over time, but I will try not to focus on Hyunseung and Junhyung too much because I don't want to be misconstrued as supporting their actions. What does moasaic-ridden mean? But do not worry, my journey with Highlight is not over -- I will go through the recommendations, but I will be here for Highlight, and their solos, as they are now!

Yay on remembering the members Yeoseop literally looks the same, but older haha! When I was looking to come back to my Highlight journey, I was originally going to react to Fiction because I don't know why, but I thought that was the debut song haha! I don't know if I misremembered that from the Killing Voice, or what it was! But then obviously it was 'Bad Girl'. Okay, so I will remember Hyunseung more -- does he still do music? As for Junhyung, that is most unsettling to read! I feel like 2009, and around that time, was the real height of autotuned vocals haha! I don't usually mind it, I just wish in Hyunseung's high note, as it was for Yoseop's, that it was removed there. Ah, regarding Cube, that makes a lot of sense! Beast was to old Cube, as (G)I-DLE is to current Cube, I'd argue then? In terms of the influence they have given to Cube through their successes. Dongwoon is a businessman, I like it! WAIT THEY OWN A JAPANESE LABEL?! I didn't know that! I was aware of Cube maintaining ownership of their name, and how they recently got it back -- even though they don't plan to go back to Beast! Wow thank you so much for al the information! I don't know if I'll check out all the releases when they were Beast, just for obvious reasons with Junhyung. But if you have any recommendations for where to go next on my Highlight journey, I'd really appreciate them!

@kennethiain Yoseop really does look very similar in his thirties haha. Fiction is their most famous song in the West, probably why you remembered the name so vividly! Beast could definitely be equated to (G)I-DLE in Cube, when they left in 2016 they raked in about half of the company's revenue. They used to own their Japanese label (it was called Beast Music) but unfortunately as you can guess from reading the name it was closed down as they left and Universal Music Japan re-uploaded some of the content but a lot was never officially put back on YT 😭 Hyunseung still does music, he stayed in Cube for 5-6 (? I don't really follow what he does tbh) years and they only gave him one release if I remember well. Actually at first they tried to reform a new "Beast" with him and other new members, it was a mess... Now he is a solo artist under the name Able. His music leans a lot more hip hop and BigBang like, which is the group he was almost a part of before joining Cube and Beast. Another commenter below said his attitude problem was the real reason, while I don't particularly like him my opinion is that it stems from realising that Beast wasn't what he really wanted to do - some ways he acted were definitely unprofessional but I don't particularly expect a mid 20s performer to be super mature in that regard. Junhyung... Yeah. It's hard to say how much he really was implicated but his actions and words after show that he isn't a particularly good person unfortunately. It's up to your feelings in the end. Their most famous songs from their Beast days are Shock (2010), On Rainy Days (2011, no MV), Fiction (2011), Beautiful Night (2012) and 12 : 30 (2014, the video contains DV so don't watch it if it makes your uncomfortable/triggers you). They don't actually have a ton of releases, they usually had one per year and only released more than that in 2010 and 2014. So even if you go through all of their MVs it will be pretty fast. But I understand not wanting to delve into their pre 2021 stuff. There's still plenty of their 4 members content/solo content that you haven't gotten to 😊

HE REALLY DOES! I'm like: AWW BABY YEOSEOP. Like he's older than me, but looking at him then, I'm like: SO YOUNG haha! I'm 90% sure that the instrumental version, and I said this in my Killing Voice reaction, was used in a football programme in the UK. Like to transition between different segments. I could be wrong, and I wasn't actively watching the show, so I could have misheard. But yes! Hand on heart, I've never heard Fiction outside of that (and even that, I can't guarantee it was the same song. It could have been similar) It seems that I am destined to love groups, both and girl, that carry Cube entertainment on their shoulders 😁 That is so unfortunate -- I'd love to see them re-take ownership of the stuff from that time, and call it Highlight music or something. I don't know if that's possible, or even a want, but yeah, could you imagine? Totally valid to not follow him. From what user-ydj said that you're referring to, I can see why people weren't totally enamoured by him. I think the worst thing a group can do, and this is just my opinion -- but the worst thing they could have done is that. Because it will never feel the same as the first Beast, y'know? Yeah, as someone who wanted to be a performer (still do, but difficulties with my physical health and stuff), I would do anything that would allow me to perform the best I could. But if I was doing something -- such as a musical or something -- that my heart really wasn't in, it definitely showed if I didn't re-try with a renewed effort. So it makes sense what was going on with him, if he didn't really want to be a part of Beast. Regarding Junhyung, I think, and I said this to user-ydj too, what he did was as bad as the overall scandal. He could have taken that footage he received, and given it to authorities -- said, I won't be a part of this -- but he didn't. In watching it, he became complicit in the scandal as much as anyone else embroiled in it. Because of when they left, obviously it would be hard to react to older content with them in it. However, having heard their Killing Voice performance, of which included Fiction and Beautiful Night, I think it would be a disservice to the rest of the members if I avoided them -- again, as you said, Fiction was their most famous song in the west. I will handle any criticism I may receive from reacting to those songs. But I will react and place a disclaimer whenever I do react to them that I am aware of Hyunseung and Junhyung, and that I am reacting in spite of them, but in support of the 4 members of Highlight. Thank you for your warning about 12:30. I may record my reaction to that -- but if I do post it, I make no apologies if I cry, or if I decide not to post the reaction at all. I don't know if you've seen my other reactions, but I react to SB19's Josh Cullen's solo music. Several of his songs deal with his experience of childhood abuse, which is something I have experienced similar things to -- so it is a subject to which I am affected by! So I appreciate you telling me, and warning me in advance! THERE IS SO MUCH CONTENT! I have a Yang Yeoseop cover he did in my Watch Later, and part of me is just like: WATCH IT WITHOUT RECORDING (cause I don't have to worry about lighting and looking halfway human haha!). @@kennethiain I know you prefer watching/listening to the original before diving into other versions of the songs but an option to circumvent Junhyung would be watching concert versions as 4 members, the channel highlightnunafans uploads very high quality multi take fancams of their performances. The best would be if they rerecorded their older songs but as they don't own the rights it would be difficult. I'd love for them to create a Japanese label again, their Japanese releases were always great -they always worked with Japanese songwriters and lyricists- and they are still actively touring there. But it would be a lot to handle between Around Us and that, so I understand why it's not something they have pursued. I'll be looking forward to your future reactions! Yeah as someone who had similar things growing up. It's not discipline, but abuse. All that person (in this example, the Nanny) is doing is teaching you to fear them, not respect them, or be disciplined. Usually in adulthood, but the minute you find your strength -- which is incredibly hard to do -- and that fear is broken, so too is the faux respect you had for that person. Because it was only the fear that made you feel the way you did about them. Yeah the candle wax shots broke my heart. I appreciated how they shot that sequence, but yeah, the fact that was something he went through as a kid is so heartbreaking! We owe him so much for his art, honestly! Because he doesn't have to help us while he heals himself. That he chose to is an amazing indication of his character and personality. I appreciate him so much for it. I am doing much better today, thank you! I'd like to think I'm healing a little bit every day! Thank you!

@ yeah. It’s crazy how in the old days, they see this as a form of discipline. Times evolve and yeah people are recognizing now that it’s abuse and that there are better ways to discipline a kid. Not everyone can find the strength to begin to find ways so they can start healing from their trauma. For some, they just carry it until they realize it too late that they can break away from it. That it’s not them who was the problem, it’s the people who did the abuse were the problem. Take your time. Slowly, you’ll get your true healing. Feeling a little better each day is still a victory and a step towards healing and freedom from all the pain and trauma you felt. Just keep fighting. It gets tiring, but life and your dreams is always worth fighting for. ❤️❤️

Absolutely! In my situation, it wasn't even in situations where you'd want a child to be disciplined. I basically lived every day on a metaphorical tightrope, walking on eggshells. But yes, I'm glad that we are seeing, as a society, the harm even just hitting a child does! Absolutely! I 100% agree with you on that! It was never them that was a problem. I was once on the phone with a helpline, as an adult, and I was explaining some of the things that happened, and I said: "I don't know what I did. Maybe I was just too naughty or something," and the lady I was on the phone to, replied: "you did nothing wrong. It wasn't your fault. There is nothing a child could have done to have warranted [what happened to me]." I am so very lucky to have gotten out of that. It has cost me a lot, but if I had gotten to the point like you said -- that it was too late; that I had no way out, I feel like it would have cost me so much more! Thank you blackangel08! At the moment, regarding reactions, I think I'm just going to be sticking with song reactions. Yes! I especially enjoyed your take on the metaphors used and the comparison between Tilaluha and Go Up. Pablo recently had a premier night event for his short film, where he sang a few songs and shared a little bit of backstory for some of them. He shared that Kumunoy (Quicksand) was written when everyone, except Stell, decided to quit. He and Josh eventually returned and for a time it was just him, Stell and Josh training. Then Justin was scouted and Ken joined after online auditions. So it's highly possible that the group they left was not SB19 as we know it since Justin and Ken haven't joined yet. As far as I know, the boys have not discussed any of these events in detail before. Please feel free to watch the vlog whenever, either in your own time or in a video. As I said, no pressure. I understand that there's so much content, it can be overwhelming. But I thought to mention it because it felt like something you might enjoy.

If it had been the case that Tilaluha had been a great success (which it's a beautiful song, it should be successful), Go Up might not have happened -- at least not right away! @@kennethiain He made certain...mistakes in the past and as a result of those mistakes a lot of people stopped following him and he lost certain opportunities in Korea (where he first debuted in a band). So to paraphrase his words, his arrogance was punished by god and everything he had earned up until that point was burned.
